Oh crud. I bent one of the lines to the rear too many times it seems and the line cracked. Should have used a line bender tool I guess.
Any way to buy just a single line from GM? Or just get some bulk line and cut out bad area of line and make a few flares and patch a new section in? I have a...
I'll try. The problem is releasing and fastening the lines in the support clips. Also northern states you need to scrape off rust scale on frame which can contact new lines thus causing abrasion and leaks again. Should, as always, depend on where you live.
Nice tips. I have cut out a few olld lines and looked at clearance. Due to lines being pre-bent I think I'm going to remove fuel tank for ease of routing and fastening to support clips. Overall should save some time and frustration. Much less frustrating to remove fuel tank. Especially if you...
In the same boat with you on my 05 Tahoe. Went to start it the other day and the brake pedal went to the floor. Got out and found brake fluid dripping at rear drivers side wheel well.
I found after a brief inspection that all my brake lines are encapsulated in a scaly, rusty mess. I'm guessing...
I have been using only Timken or GM OEM hubs but will go with Carquest. NAPA or big box auto store brands if I plan on selling the vehicle. My online service manual mentions the hubs are now 4WD style and are made so they don't require the CV axle to hold the hub together anymore. I think they...
A running datalog using a OBD2 scan tool is probably the only way your gonna catch the problem in the act. That is If you know what part to monitor and include in the running log. It sounds like we don't know specifically anything at this point.
Some of the sensor tests won't necessarily prompt...
I wouldn't think your throttle body would be dirty much at your mileage. Has there been anything aftermarket added like a K&N air filter or any maintenance under the hood since 0 on the odometer? A bit of back story helps.
Given the year of your vehicle I would start simple. Always start with simplest repair first. I would run a few bottles of fuel system cleaner like Berrymans B-12 Chemtool. It solved my intermittent rough idle. Sounds like leaking injector(s). Now the reason it runs fine off idle is because...
From what I understand...the magnaride uses the ride height sensors to determine voltage at each shock valve that the magnetic fluid (Ferro fluid) moves through. So if your torsion bars were cranked up or down, or changed out... or you installed aftermarket hubs or control arms. Any of...
I have 4 Michelin light truck tires for sale. Only used a few years with very little 7,000 or so miles on them. Deep tread and great winter traction! I was going to use them towing but I don't use my Tahoe to tow so selling these. Michelin Defender LT265 70 R 17. All four in very good shape...
Doesn't overheat immediately? So it is overheating? That's strange.... What are your temps reaching? Sounds like low speed efan isn't working or turning on. Highspeed efam turns on around 230F. Don't go by the dash temp gauge.
Turn off AC so the efans don't come on and park it running at idle...
Had to sand my axle as well. There was tons of rust on the rear left and right axle tubes. Pretty obvious that putting new sensors in place with no rust removal would make the air gap bigger. In effect would make the problem worse not better.
One last thing...Make sure you are adding the proper amount of oil! With a PF-61e filter that would be somewhere close to 7 quarts! Your dipstick might be a non original as well. And also put on a ACDelco filter just to rule it out per the TSB from GM.
Seems like you've covered a bit already. My only remaining concern would be to check that the correct ACDelco PF-46 oil filter is being used. And also it seems per the owners manual that 5W-30 synthetic is the recommended grade of oil that covers a wide range of owners situations. Try that as...
Make sure your using an ACDelco PF-61e or PF-46e filter. There are a few service bulletins regarding it. If that don't fix the issue then at least it's been ruled out...
It's my opinion it won't work. Go ahead and put it in. It's your car. You do realize it's just isopropyl alcohol... No detergents or solvents. Pretty mild. SF was never meant to be used when flushing an engine. That prescription just ain't on the bottle.
Sea foam really isn't meant to be added to your oil. Just intake and fuel system. SF is primarily a fuel system drier comprised of mostly isopropyl alcohol..nothing else.
You may be suffering from a slight filter screen blockage. You can remove the oil pressure switch and take it out spray some carb cleaner on it in reverse flow direction. May want to replace pressure switch which is cheap insurance at your mileage.
If your up to it I would then try an oil...
I only see 30 psi at idle when stopped at an intersection for instance. This would be hot ambient temps as well. Roughly 40 -60 psi any other time driving. Is your oil pressure needle moving relative to throttle input/load?
I have confirmed that the heater fan dies only when rolling up or down window. That's what I just replaced. Hmm. Starting to wonder if I have a battery/alternator issue. Going to check resistor and connector this evening.
Yeah i guess I could look at the resistor again. I replaced the wiring connector around 5 years ago when i replaced the head unit. i remember that cover under the dash taking a long time to remove due to obscure srews holding it up. I think I'll pass on that for now unless it becomes more...
Hello everyone. The other day after replacing the drivers side window motor on my 05 Tahoe I noticed my heater fan turning off for a few seconds and then comes back on and continues blowing like normal. It's got automatic controls. I'm also not sure if doing any work on the window motor is just...
