Search around as you can always pickup a used kit. I bought mine for less than $1800 or so if I recall correctly. I was just vigilant as well as patient.

Google this kit number for your application. 1GH212-SCI Check if Vortech has an application for our old trucks.

Personally you should boost it, tune it, and go from there. That would net the most gains for the least amount of mods. You'd need top end and higher gears once the 8-10lbs of boost kicks in. Don't take our word for it. Seek out others in your area and get first hand experiences.

It would help, but also keep in mind that you'd have to reflash the PCM to account for the new gears......shift points, speedometer, etc....Blackbear Performance could do this easily or even someone with tuning software suite. Of course you'd have to pay for the license.

    5.7L Vortec Superchargers?

Procharger unless you can find a Whipple or possibly a Radix. Those are basically unicorns though. Turbo is really the best option but very labor intensive.

    rear end gearing

Double check your build code but mine stock were 3.42 gears. If you're just gonna do 3.73, then it really isn't worth it. Personally, I went with AAM gears for my truck after the lift because I was able to get a good deal on OE replacements. The majority of gears out there are of quality. Also...

FS: 96-99 Vortec PSC-1 Supercharger Kit & Headman Ceramic Coated LT's

Well let me know if you change your mind. If I had another GMT400 I would pick up your kit. As of now I'm content with my P1SC on the Hoe as well as the mp112 on my 6.0 Denali XL!

    Marine Intake - Thoughts?

It's an accomishment considering that a stock L31 would struggle to put down 180 rwhp.

    ENGINE DECISION TIME!!!!!! opinions please

Yes, you can swap from electronic to cable driven TB. It's done often that you can find detailed write ups on it.

    Marine Intake - Thoughts?

He sold his setup already & is doing a 6.0 swap.

    Marine Intake - Thoughts?

It's proven to be a great upgrade. However, intake supply is drying up. If you don't need EGR & a stock TB location for inspection purposes, you should consider alternatives. One very viable option is a LS swap.

    ENGINE DECISION TIME!!!!!! opinions please

Can't go wrong with a LQ4 swap! It'll run stronger than any blown sbc, IMHO.

    what 6 lug rims

6 x 5.5 lug pattern, hubcentric (ideally), but can use non-hubcentric with a center ring as stated above.

    Self Tuning

Off hand you will need to tune for gears/tire combo, air volume of the larger TB, injector settings, & most importantly that cam.

School me on Turbo vs. Super

If you don't want anything "crazy" do a s/c & be done with it. Personally, the Maggie is way more fun than the ProCharger. The 30*+ IAT's on the Maggie is one of the few drawbacks I have experienced. I'm running about 11#'s on both the Hoe & Denali (2.9 pulley).
