    Bent tie rod

The shocks on there have about 30k miles on them, which granted doesn't mean much. I have done multiple bump tests on all 4 corners with good results. I also detached the shock from the bottom bolt and pushed them in testing for resistance. They were all extremely hard to move by hand so I'm...

    Bent tie rod

I never actually solved my problem DJ. I ended up buying another car and letting the tahoe sit I was so fed up with it and scared to drive it. Spent probably around $2k trying to tighten up steering and handling. About the only thing I can think of left is fukd torsion bars. Getting my sanity...

Horrible "death wobble" after new wheels/tires?

I have visually inspected them. I did not see or feel any tears in the boots.

Horrible "death wobble" after new wheels/tires?

M1, I've heard the term before but have no idea what they are. Can you describe and post some pics please?

    Torsion Bar Crossmember Bushing Replacement

Were the symptoms you described the only ones you experienced from the bad bushings?

    Bent tie rod

M1, thanks for sticking with me and all of your insight! I actually was able to arrange a free tow to a dealership on a friend's AAA account haha. The service manager there is an old friend of my wife's from the car scene years ago. It's a nissan dealer but they have a guy that specializes in...

    Bent tie rod

Well, I got half a mile from the house this morning going about 40 mph it started to wander way more than I was comfortable with. No way am I taking it on the freeway in this condition. About to bite the bullet and get a rental and drop it off at a shop. I've tried trial and error for the last...

    Bent tie rod

It was actually installed a little after the problems. You think it could be causing a negative effect?

Yeah steering stabilizer went on a couple weeks ago

    Bent tie rod

Very oddly it seems passenger rear caliper pins were the culprit of the pull...I say oddly since it was pulling to the passenger side. But that was the only wheel that still moved while braking. the slide pins had no grease on them and were slightly rusted. Replaced it just now with a whole new...

    Bent tie rod

Pitman arm and idler arm 35k miles ago. New poly front sway end link bushings, shock extenders for the level. Took front shocks loose from the bottom the other day to test and they were very firm, doing the same with the rears now. Panhard and rear sway seem firm. The pull may be a rear caliper...

    Bent tie rod

Yes i did have a steering box recently replaced. I also replaced tie rods today and it still nose dives hard to the right while braking. It still goes into a swaying motion at highway speeds.

    Bent tie rod

Also I had the new setup on for a few weeks before this started. I already sold my factory setup, but I did swap the front tires which produced no difference.

    Bent tie rod

I'm not really sure how to check the rear,,I know the shocks are decent but as far as control arms etc I'm not sure. Sway bar same thing as Panhard rail?

    Bent tie rod

The steering wheel is still level, but there is a great amount of wander which gets worse with speed. Had a shop tell me that I had a bent tie rod when I got an alignment (thought they were mistaken and just referring to the angels after leveling). Has me completely stumped, but has gotten so...

    Bent tie rod

Anyone ever have steering problems, lose control on the highway, or have brake pull due to a bent tie rod?

    Peep these tie rod angles

Yes, the cv angle is way worse on that side also. Unfortunately I've already lowered the keys as much as I can. Front sides are almost at identical height but different angles, I don't get it. Unless the torsion bars are more worn on one side...

    Peep these tie rod angles

Still trying to diagnose my horrible handling. What do ya'll think about the more severe angle? It looks almost broken. Seems weird that the front is almost the same height on both sides of the truck but that much differen ce of angle. Any thoughts?

Horrible "death wobble" after new wheels/tires?

I have brand new jounce stops with spacers under them so they actually work. One side is touching the other side is very close to touching.

Horrible "death wobble" after new wheels/tires?

I guess I'm gonna have to go back to the suspension drawing board. Just jacked up all 4 wheels individually and they spun without a problem.

Horrible "death wobble" after new wheels/tires?

Well, the temperatures seemed to be about the same maybe due to the fact that I didn't drive it long enough or something. Still leaning towards that being the cause, which might also explain the highway episodes. Dragging caliper plus heavy wheels/tires...even doing about 50 it feels way more...

Horrible "death wobble" after new wheels/tires?

Just read a great how-to from 2carpros. Take it for a hard drive and then use a laser temperature gun to check the temps of the rotors. If there is a massive difference then it is a stuck caliper. About to try it now!

Horrible "death wobble" after new wheels/tires?

I didn't notice the weird nosedive until during the episode where I lost control on the highway, a week and a half or so ago. And I've definitely used the brakes enough to notice it before then. So it's way too early for me to just eyeball the pads to check the caliper.

Horrible "death wobble" after new wheels/tires?

Can that happen over time? The brake job was done probably a year ago and they've ben great
