    thx for this bulletin! i will check this out, but in the mean time... i have a nominal thickness *** of paper towels wedged under the glass between the hinges that has stopped the rattling! so, mine definitely comes from the hinges.

    the seals seem ok, but hey, they are 13 yrs old. i'm going to try adding some temporary loose door seal around it before i buy a whole new seal kit.

    its at the hot level in park idling. i bought this 2 yrs ago with 160k on it. the only thing i have done tranny related was put in an additive 20k miles ago. i think it was zmax.

    2010 burb w/ 188k just started what i call shuttering going up inclines at low rpm. not sure if related, but after it started doing this i crawled under and found my trans dipstick tube had popped loose at the tranny. the securing nut was gone. the fluid is on the clear side and doesnt smell...

    OK, so i swapped the driver front and rear tires, did the relearn again and the last tire would to make the horn beep, so thats the sensor i replaced. relearned again and all is good!

    i agree with the above that your 05 is probably more reliable as was my 2002 yukon xl . but the lure of more features and less miles, plus i wanted a z71. mine is a 2010. it was hard to find, but i do remember a couple 2014's but i would have paid 10k more for one. and they didnt have sunroof...

    UPDATE! the code is P0442 in the few weeks that the engine light has been on i have seen the message pop up 'tighten fuel cap', but its not loose. do you think a new fuel cap will solve the problem? or is it really something else?

    UPDATE! i did buy the OBDLINK LX. i got a P0442 evap code. the engine light has been on for 2 wks now and i have seen the message "tighten fuel cap" twice, but cap is tight. do you think this is the only reason for the code?

    first engine code at 170k miles. 'evap' according to o'reillys auto parts. where should i start to investigate? my son says theres something similar to a pcv valve towards the rear of the engine to check?

    no, they said if they're able to get it to seal they dont take it any further. i've seen where dorman makes a clamp for some 5.3 heads but not all if theres 2 spare holes on back of head to mount it to.
