    REAR END UPGRADES

Yes it does have warranty. But I did the removal and installation myself, the engine builder did not. So it's on me to remove it and get the long block back to him for servicing. I've been extremely short on time lately so it's in hover craft holding pattern unfortunately. I'm hoping to get...

    REAR END UPGRADES

I did not figure it out yet. I managed to get the 6.0 swap done and was happily driving it for months, then tragedy struck. Either lost a head gasket or cracked head, or heaven forbid a cracked block. Whatever the case, I was loosing coolant and it's been parked for months now in total...

    9.5SF Swap

Were you ever able to find out if any of the GMT800 AXN axles come with a G80 or other traction device from the factory? I have been trying to find that out also. So far, every one I have seen in person was an open carrier. I posted a request on an Escalade forum for 2wd 6.0 Escalade owners...

    9.5SF Swap

I didn't pay attention to what axle he is working with, but if it is an 05-06 Escalade AXN axle, those do have a tone ring sensor at the very outer end of the axle housing. I posted a picture of it in this thread, when I acquired mine. It is still uninstalled here, as I am dealing with other...

I need some insight on a motor swap

So you are seeing the balancer wobble, or you hear a sound that makes you think something is out of balance?

Good idea. Tried that earlier and the smell didn't get any stronger. Now I'm questioning if the heater core is even leaking. How often did the GMT800's have leaky heater cores, if anyone has an idea?

Checked the surge tank overflow tube. Clean and dry underneath the surge tank and around the tube. Is there anyone that has had a leaking heater core? How did you discover that it was leaking? Did it leak from anywhere?

    Another coolant leak thread

Thank you for the peanut gallery comments. I was surprised with some of your calls in your posts and offerings here as well. So like you said your deal, your call. If you have something to add in regards to the issue I'm dealing with, I appreciate your post.

Yes, the water pump was 7 months old so it was still new. The pump isn't the problem.

Okay, I did the pressure test with the rental tool and the system holds 15psi with no visible leaks. Then I started the Tahoe and let it run with the 15psi still holding. As it ran longer, I noticed something that might be dreadful. The pressure increased the longer it ran. Is that the...

    Another coolant leak thread

Thanks for the responses. I checked the water pump weep hole but I will check again. Years ago that is how I found the original water pump was leaking, the big white stain on the bottom half of the pump. Is the evaporator box drain where I mentioned, below the A/C dryer? If the heater core is...

    Another coolant leak thread

Hi all, I have this small coolant leak that is driving me crazy because I can't find it. Some background info: 2004 Tahoe w/ 340k original mileage, all new 6.0 LQ9 installed 2022(maybe 6k miles so far in 2023), new heater hoses & T's, new coolant reservoir, new radiator, newer water pump moved...

Escalade Vs Denali Vs Tahoe Cluster

I saw that one pop up in Anaheim and thought Platinum when I saw the wheels as well. But as you noted, it is a standard Escalade with the platinum wheels. I'd like to take a dive into the seats again when the next one filters thru a junkyard, and try to figure out how to wire them up outside...

Escalade Vs Denali Vs Tahoe Cluster

On the Escalades I've run into, the 03-04 model years have the painted silver gauge rings, and all 05-06 model years have the chrome looking gauge rings. Subtle changes and differences between 03-4 & 05-6. My personal preference is the 05-06 cluster. One more minor change is 06 is a one...

Escalade Vs Denali Vs Tahoe Cluster

This is the best site I've found with Escalade Platinum pictures and describing the differences from standard Escalade. https://www.netcarshow.com/cadillac/2004-escalade_esv_platinum/ From what I've read, if wikipedia is correct, the Platinum package was only available on the longer ESV...

05-06 Escalade Platinum heated/cooled cup holders wiring

So I stumbled across an Escalade Platinum heated/cooled cup holder in a standard Escalade recently. Has the wiring for this cupholder been unraveled and anyone know what wire is what? I'd like to power it up and test before buying it. It looks like it's had a hard life, so testing it is first...

'04 Gauge cluster needle calibration & dim DIC vs. gear display

I've been playing around with different configurations of factory gauge cluster parts for my 04 Tahoe since the lq9 engine swap was completed. First thought was a Denali cluster, but then moved on to 05 Escalade cluster. In order to keep my original Tahoe cluster details(miles, use, etc), I...

Question about the TBSS / NNBS intake upgrade

Good info there from adriver. Likely the same info in the attachment, but here is a website that has all the same info that I have found useful when looking up injectors. https://www.psiconversion.com/tech/ls_guide/fuel_injector.html

    Engine swap '04 Tahoe 5.3 to 6.0

Been driving the Tahoe on and off for the last month. It's been a pleasure to drive and I think the 6.0 is substantial over the old worn 5.3, but I haven't yet decided if that is a placebo effect. I had the ECM bench tuned to enable the fans and adjust for cam & idle; proper dyno tune still on...

    04 Tahoe wiper arm skipping

Thanks, I will check both of those out as possible causes. Blades are relatively new and wipe clean at slower speeds. This is just a problem at highway speeds, which makes me think it is arm related. How are the washer nozzles attached to the arm, clipped on?

    04 Tahoe wiper arm skipping

With all the rain we've been having in Socal recently, I've noticed that the driver's side wiper isn't doing a good job. At low speeds on the street, both wipers wipe clean, however, at highway speeds, the driver's side wiper is almost 'skipping'(for lack of a better word) across the...

AC Delco plug wires date coded?

Are AC Delco spark plug wires date coded anywhere? The ones in my Tahoe are working well, no misfire or anything like that, but I do not know how old they are since I'm not original owner of the vehicle. I've adopted the idea, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It would be good to know though...
