    2002 redo moving along

Probably not. The Cruise problem is with the brake lights, and for some reason only happens when the tail lights are also on (i.e. Headlights on). If I remember right, it basically thinks your brakes are on when the tail lights are on due to lower resistance and doesn't let cruise control...

    2002 redo moving along

Splincing in a resistor at the bulb os cheap and takes less than a minute. That's the route I'd reccomend. Plenty of led bulb correction power resistors on the market. Even autozone has them (but expensive)

    2002 redo moving along

You will likely have to use resistors for led brake and turn signals. Otherwise signals will hyperflash, and cruise control won't work when the headlights are on (trust me, this gets annoying). The vehicle senses a bulb is out by a change in the resistance, most LED bulbs do not work with this...

Rear wiper not docking and does not work

I had all sorts of weird problems with mine when the ground wire for it was going bad. erratic movement, not fully docking, etc. I'd try running a new temporary ground to a good spot on the frame. I believe I just cut my old one and ran a new wire to somewhere in the rear hatch, but it was years...

    Weird Temperature Control On Defog

It is full manual controls. 3 vacuum (I assume?) operated knobs. Temperature control usually just changes the temperature of the air. I have a generic scan tool, but definitely not something that can access any climate control stuff.

    Weird Temperature Control On Defog

My heat/ ac controls work normal in every position except defog(windshield blower) when the control is rotated all the way that direction, the temperature control does not function properly. I get about 2 "clicks" of warm, then it blows full cold, no intermediate control as there should be and...

    Exhaust leak killing O2 sensor?

So there have literally been a few wires broken for years now, but they clearly aren't anything important somehow... Besides that, plenty more are holding on by 1 strand. it's truly remarkable it's held up so long. Might be time to splice in new pieces for everything that looks bad. It's right...

    Exhaust leak killing O2 sensor?

Haven't sprayed anything in a long time. Ill take a look and see if the intake looks dirty at all. Wiring harness looks ok. I'll get a meter on the wires and make sure all seems good. I've been having some electrical issues due to corrosion and mice (they built a nest in my main electrical box...

2001 Yukon 5.3 - Sounds like a miss, only at idle.

I'm not fighting either, I've gotten into this debate with people before (similarly, the debate of leave the old engine alone, it's crap build up is probably keeping it running how it wants to vs clean it out as best possible). I too would love to see some actual research into the matter and...

    Electrical issues

You've probably already checked this, but make sure your battery terminals are good. I've been screwed by this too many times to count. It usually won't be an issue until something (like the starter) tries to draw a ton of current.

2001 Yukon 5.3 - Sounds like a miss, only at idle.

Say what you will, but I have 350K on my engine, and I honestly believe it is good to run them hard occasionally. This is based mostly on experience and not science, but my feeling is it is necessary to burn off crap. The engine was built to handle abuse. I'm not saying drive crazy all the time...

    Clunk noise not u joint

My slip yoke clunks loud as hell and always has for the record. Little less if I grease it up real good before sticking it back in. Only really heard when shifting from park into gear though, no noises on shifts.

2001 Yukon 5.3 - Sounds like a miss, only at idle.

I'd dump a can or 2 of seafoam in the tank (real strong, close to an empty tank if you can) and go hammer on it to give the injectors a good cleaning. There are better methods than this, but if it is some injectors not squirting well this should help enough to notice. That throttle body looked...

    Denali T-case issues

Check that you used the right fluid. The automatic transfer cases (button shift with the auto button) take special autotrack II fluid, and they apparently aren't too happy on normal atf. Fortunately the cases are pretty easy to find in a junkyard and not that bad to replace. Mine went out from...

    Poll: Do you burn oil?

I think these engines live off the crap they build up over time. I run some seafoam to clean it out occasionally, but the thing hasn't been touched other than that in 350K. Even when it has "problems" it usually still runs fantastic through whatever shit is broken... My theory is whatever...

    Poll: Do you burn oil?

Vehicle year/engine: '02 Tahoe 5.3 Flex Fuel, 350,000 miles! Mileage: 12-13 (oversized tires and lots of extra weight) Oil used: 5w30 winter, 10w30 summer. Always full synthetic. Mobile 1 unless I find a deal on another brand. Mobil 1 filter. Oil burned/time: ~1qt in 5,000 miles. Most of this is...

    Exhaust leak killing O2 sensor?

Plugs and wires are all pretty new, I'd have to check my logs, but definitely less than 30k, and they are good iridium plugs. Wires are actually newer, I bought the longer ones for the square coils and just ran those for a while, swapped them out when I got a deal on a set of the right ones...

    Exhaust leak killing O2 sensor?

Fuses are good, and I believe the same code was set when the last one died. What are you suggesting in way of a "tune up"? I don't think it was me that brought it up last year. Clogged cats are most definitely an option, they have 340,000 miles on them.

    Exhaust leak killing O2 sensor?

I have a poorly fixed exhaust leak between the manifold and cat on the left side of my engine. Long story short, I got a piece of pipe with the flange and O2 sensor mount and have them clamped together with one of those metal band repair clamps. The cuts are not perfect, and it definitely leaks...

    Emergency CV axle repair

Sorry for the late update, but here goes... Well, it was the wheel bearing and not the CV. Super strange failure mode for one. Not sure if there was some kind of manufacturing defect or if I was just hard on them, but it was GONE when I jacked the wheel up and felt it. Used my girlfriends AAA to...

    Emergency CV axle repair

Thanks, this is likely what I will do. I'm not sure, but I don't know what else it would be if not the hubs?

    Emergency CV axle repair

definitely will. Like I said, I've done hubs before. This definitely is not the same as they failed before

    Emergency CV axle repair

I'll check it out, but I'd be very surpirsed if it's a hub. when they've gone out before it was more a whirring at high speed, and would get worse when turning at speed to shift weight. both hubs are timken units replaced less than 50k ago.

    Emergency CV axle repair

Interesting. I'm worried about it completely blowing, I can take a shitty drive home, but I don't want to cause more damage. what happens if it blows up on the highway?

    Fuel pump

If you still need one, I have a Delphi pump new in box I was not able to return I'll sell it well below retail. Bought thinking mine was bad, but it turned out to be a wiring issue.
