Getting ready to replace mine, and going to try this one. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1130207&cc=1355510&jsn=418
I've got about 268K on the stock 'dizzy'. Amazingly there is no correlation error yet, just stripped out plastic cap mounting holes. Dorman makes a bracket to...
I had a tech tell me I might need a new oil pan on my 1999. I got lucky and just installed a new M12-1.75 thread bolt....
(The material on the bolt should be softer than the thread material on the pan.)

I still do not understand the reasoning behind using a plastic/composite distributor base. Can someone enlighten me here, is it to isolate or insulate?
I did an outright valve body replacement on mine. It was pretty dirty work. (Lots of tranny fluid continually leaking with every fastener removed.) 1-5/16" socket worked well to disengage the main wiring harness assembly.
It was about $300 or so if I remember for the upgraded valve body...
I would check/trace every bit of visible wire to and from the transfer case/front differential.
Are any tcase fuses being blown?
Your transfercase could very well be internally damaged, but it would be a pisser if something electrical and not mechanical was holding it down.
You mention that...
Your '99 will have a bank1 upstream and downstream Oxygen sensor and a bank2 upstream and downstream Oxygen sensor lined up on each Catalytic converter.
If you have ever had a problem with unburned fuel running into your Catalytic converters then they could be damaged.
Are you getting any...
Trick is you are going to actually have to run it out of gas to test it. ;)
(I found my fuel gauge was innacurate along Interstate 80 near Travis AFB exit.)
(Resulting in a 5 mile walk to a gas station that was selling billion dollar powerball tickets...Sigh.)
So thread looks a bit old, but still on page 1.
Forged pistons work WAY better in Nitrous/Turbo/Supercharged applications than Cast versions. Also steel crankshafts help. ;)
Don't forget to lower piston compression ratio for specific application.
Hp tuners possibly? If you want bi-directional programming. Just heed the warning.

Almost sounds like the system is trying to throw out the spark a bit too early? Similar to too much advance on earlier models? (I.e. trying to throw out spark while compression stroke is still rising?) Idk, gl.
(Or you are overheating?)
Yea, this was a headscratcher for me. I was wondering about the oil usage as my compression checked out. I gated my pcv system down just a bit and monitored oil consumption during a 3-4k mileage period and it (The consumption.) still persisted.
