    Back in an Escalade.

Heh. This one is sad actually. I was about to go on a trip and the chrome was peeling on my old wheels and I needed tires. I called them and asked for a new version of my wheels with tires. They were out of Esky wheels but had Denali. I said to do those instead. Then I checked Facebook...

    Back in an Escalade.

Not sure anyone cares about a 14 year old truck. Man I've had this a long time and decided to keep it yet again. I can get a comparable newer body style for ~$45K. No thanks! Remember, I'm the guy who had the new Tahoe in 2015 and didn't like it at all. This truck has been great for me and I...

Digital TV in dash -- need antennae and power help

Thanks. My 07 only has composite inputs. (Yes I know it's old and I've test driven new Escalades. I'm going to push this to 200K) I do have an extra Roku and unlimited data though... FWIW: I want this for tornadoes and college football. Sometimes we get tornadoes hitting OKC and our local news...

Digital TV in dash -- need antennae and power help

For $39 I was able to buy this TV tuner + remote + antenna for my 07 Escalade. When I plugged it in, this happened. Perfect! I have a 4000W inverter that I intend to mount under the hood and run power under my passenger seat. Finding a switched source at the box will be interesting...

    Upgrade Ideas for 2007 Escalade

Have you good luck with those? One went well on a BMW. It did nothing on a Porsche. I do think I'll clay bar and use that fancy new Mequires. I have a nice variable speed polisher and it was painted 4 years ago. Headlights aren't even foggy yet. Kind of crazy for a 153,000 mile truck? Sent...

    Upgrade Ideas for 2007 Escalade

What do you mean by leveling the rear? I did new shocks and compressor. I don't even run rear seats and keep it light back there.

    Upgrade Ideas for 2007 Escalade

I just ordered the NAVIKS kit so we can listen to music videos while driving. Also LEDs for driving lights. Not sure if I should use an old wheel for spare tire or sell the set of 4. Sent from my BND-L34 using Tapatalk

    Upgrade Ideas for 2007 Escalade

I decided to keep my old 150,000 mile Escalade than buy the new model. I'll wait until I can get the new body Escalade for $23,000. For this I was able to order new tires, 2018 Denali wheels, new brakes, etc. I'll run this thing up another 50,000+ miles. Any suggestions for things I can do to...

    Back in an Escalade.

It looked perfect. The paint was thinner than OEM though. I did get a scuff I had to patch. Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk

    Back in an Escalade.

Looks like it's been 2 years since I've updated my little thread. Looks like I've had this truck for 3 or 4 years and ~70,000 miles. People make fun of American cars and say they're unreliable. I've had an amazingly cheap and easy 70,000 miles. No dealership or mechanics visits. Everything...

2008 Denali Transmission Fluid and Filter Change

FYI, it takes about 15 minutes to change the fluid on the 6L80e if you make an adapter hose and come in by the breather. Here is my how to video Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

Rear trailing arm snapped on my two week old Yukon Denali. Pics and story

My 2 cents: Some of this stuff is unpredictable. Stamped control arms like that break really easily in 4x4s on the trail. That's also a place where your torque would have twisted it. I can see how a defective part failed in that manner in a normal stop and go situation. Of course I have the...

Out with the Denali and in with an Escalade

You'll enjoy more horsepower and larger screens. Otherwise I think they're the same. Check motor mounts, leaking shocks, suspension vibration, excessive compressor runs, and shifts. Otherwise there will be small issues such as heated seat failure (burned wire) that you can fix easily. Sent...

09 Tahoe 6.2L Goes Fast, Now Needs Better Brakes

I run slotted rotors and ceramic pads on my Escalade. It seems silly to have 400HP+, 22inch wheels and such a low diameter rotors. Oh well. I don't think there is any substitute for larger diameter brakes. Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

    Switching to synthetic at 80,000?

Switching causes gum or leaks? This sounds silly. I mean one rumor says it creates gunk. The other rumor says it removes gunk. When I buy a used car I run an oil flush and immediately switch to full synthetic. I've never had an engine burn oil or even leak. (Aside from the common BMW leaks)...

    Back in an Escalade.

I'm happy with them. I drove around OKC, up to 80mph on the highway and in stop and go traffic. They are nice. They are not a downgrade and did very well. The cornering is firm. Speed bumps are alright. Potholes aren't too noticeable. I prefer to drive a little fast and one of my other cars is...

    Back in an Escalade.

Black was my first choice for sure. After 4 months waiting to find a good deal with the backup camera, <100k I expanded my search to Maroon and White. My yellow lab rides a lot. So beige hasn't been too bad. Black is definitely the best interior. Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

    Back in an Escalade.

I try to keep my car looking like new but kids in the back will spill drinks in the back. I found that the captain's chairs come out easily with 4x 3/4" or 19mm bolts. When I worked dealerships in college I noticed the detailers would remove the carpet and hit it with tire cleaner and heavy...

    Back in an Escalade.

Just wrapped it up. Took it on a test drive. I still have a clunking noise on hard accelerations. I thought I had eliminated the motor mounts. I don't get the clunk when pressing gas and brake in F or R. Maybe the front left motor mount is failing but not yet broken? None of my bushings looked...

This truck has been immaculate for the most part. This is the first rust I've found. I'm going to take this down to metal and repaint it. Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

I had a clunking noise in the front left. It had been narrowed down to the shock. The shock was leaking oil as I removed it. It came apart and dumped oil everywhere. I'm glad Im doing this today. Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

Autozone's tool was much better. The old nut for the top of the spring doesnt fit the new bolt. They didn't provide a new one that fits. Coincidentally, one of the 3 top bolts does. They provide 3 replacements for those. I'll use one of the old ones. Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

    Back in an Escalade.

I'm starting the Arnott shock frond and rear upgrade. Have the vehicle up and ready to go. I'm being lazy. I have newer tires and had planned on rotating while the truck was up. Don't want to deal with recalibrating the tire sensors. I'll put that off. Just ran into my first hiccup. Harbor...

    Back in an Escalade.

I had a 2002 Escalade which is probably similar to your 2006 Denali. There was a fuse (#7?) on the fuse box above the driver's front wheel. It was pulled. It disabled the air compressor I believe. I never heard my compressor and never had a warning light.
