    Trans went tonight

Depending on the amount of fairy dust released contaminating everything, I have to replace the cooler, the lines…etc. Pricing out drop in GM replacement units is $4500 + labor alone. I don’t have time to drop/swap myself. Im looking at $6500 (ish) for complete replacement before core charge of...

    Trans went tonight

Went to work this morning and about 1 mile before my stop the trans acted weird and slipped a little shifting gears. 50 miles each way commute. This afternoon when I left it pretty much gave up the ghost in <10 miles. P0700 and P2723 codes. Wierd metal screeching noise. All forward momentum...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Thank you. I had to literally copy and paste that into my Amazon app to find it. Any other variation wouldn’t bring up the results. Now to find some nice low pro lights that won’t hit the windshield with the hood raised

Rear Seat Rattle - Fix Ideas?

That’s along the lines of my fix it idea. I’ve got some 1/8” rubber sheeting. Just zip tie a chunk and let it ride. Lol Reminds me of the driver seat “clunk” repair

    Is it just me or….

My issue is reliability. The 2015 to 2020 models are extremely reliable. Minor issues at worst when they do have issues. My wife’s boss is on her 3rd 2022 model in 4 months. She went from a Tahoe LTZ to a Yukon XL to currently a Tahoe Z71 last month. The 1st Tahoe dropped a lifter and...

Rear Seat Rattle - Fix Ideas?

On washboard roads I’m getting a hellacious metal clatter/rattle from the passenger mid-row seat. Up/Down it makes no difference. Seems to be the floor latches and possibly the hinge joint. Anyone seen anything similar? My 2015 Tahoe sorta did this in Hawaii (horrific roads), but I haven’t...

    Offroad Tires

General Grabber AT2 Load Range E on my Suburban. I bought the version made in America (34”) Been on for ~80k miles. I have to replace them this spring. Still have decent tread for highway use, but not enough for anything besides a gravel drive I will replace with same tire. It’s a blatant copy...

Liftgate not working, well here is a fix

All of my failures were NOT corrosion. The lift itself stripped out and couldn’t handle the weight. that is BS

Liftgate not working, well here is a fix

Mine has broken 2x this year. I replaced once with OEM and once with an Amazon special. That makes 4 broken since I’ve owned this in 2.5yrs the original is installed right now. I returned both of the broken lifts and got my money back you’d think GM would have figured this out by now

Groaning/Moaning after Recall for Brakes performed

Had the brake recalls done sbout a month ago. 5.3, 4WD, 80k miles Nobody has touched the car in 40k miles. I do all maintenance and it was noise free. I let the Dealership perform the recalls and now my front suspension is moaning over every single bump. <5 mph through 80 mph it groans. Noise...

2017 Tahoe LT Failed to start

I bought a OEM starter off Amazon for $95 replaced it and it’s been perfect since. The old starter had a ton of corrosion and didn’t look the best it’s a problem for all the 2014+ 5.3 and 6.2 motors (kind of like the DOD lifters). The pickups seem worse hit than these SUV’s, but they are all...

To Performance "Chip" or not to "Chip"....

I have an Edge CS2 on my 2017 5.3 Suburban. Run it on Level 3 (Trans Only) tuning all the time. I found it used for $150 and paid the $50 to unlock the PCM. All 2017+ models have a locked PCM. If you just want a little extra pep, check them out. I like the unit and since I'm not after max...

2017 Tahoe LT Failed to start

with the used car pricing insanity, I can sell this one for almost what I paid for it 3yrs and 40k miles ago. it's seriously tempting. I got the new starter on Saturday, will replace today. just super frustrated at a <4yr old rig with 79k miles and all the issues recently. Maintenance has...

2017 Tahoe LT Failed to start

My ‘17 is doing this exact same thing. I’m actually waiting for a tow truck right now battery is 14v, turn the key and a click. Nothing else happens. it did this 4 days ago and had 12.8v on battery. So I charged it overnight. Wouldn’t start initially, then out of nowhere started and hasn’t...

LIft gate problem - 2019 Tahoe

I think you don't mean what I mean by DIY. Most car forums have DIY repairs for stuff like this. Things people have found out that help to repair/improve functions of the car. any shop monkey can swap a part. I'm after a DIY that fixes and/or prevents this stupid thing from breaking again...

DIY: Make 2015-2017 LS/LT headlights operate like a LTZ headlight (LED as DRL vice low beams)

only thing I can think of would be to unplug the associated wire to the DRL they don't serve any function with regard to night-time driving and turn signals. worst case would be they trigger a burnt out bulb indication. Page 1 of this thread has the drawing that shows what wire to disconnect...

Liftgate not working, well here is a fix

Is it possible that this Tahoe has 4WD/AWD? (pic of dash)

I have a AWD Kia Sorento. It powers the front wheel 100% of the time. In poor traction and on high power Ops, it distribute power to the rear wheels are well. All 4 wheels are not powered equally at all times. Often the rears are not powered at all. I have a nifty screen that showed the power...
