    My 96 Yukon. Bought it 3 1/2 years ago with rebuilt motor with less than 500 miles on it., 350 Vortec. It's my daily driver for work. Just put the new wheels on it. I love it.

    It's worth a shot. Be sure to go with AC Delco. Not aftermarket from your local parts store. Ebay or Amazon are about the cheapest places to find them.

    Sounds like the head unit's volume control is going south. Does the volume work normally after that? Try another head unit, OEM, or aftermarket. I bet the issue with go away.

    I did go ahead and purchase the 7 pin upgrade kit. The only issue I had with it was when I connected the white, (ground), to the trucks white wire, according to the instructions, it blew the Stop/Hazard fuse. So I disconnected it, and it seems to work fine now.

    Well, I've decided not to install brake assist anyway, Because I won't be towing any trailers big enough to require it, by law. Judging from the total lack of responses to this thread, I'm guessing no one here tows much with these trucks.

    Here's my wheels I found on Craigslist. Pretty corroded under the chrome/clear coat. Sanded it all off, starting with 80 grit sand paper on an orbital sander. And worked with finer grits all the way to 00 steel wool. Than applied wax to protect them. A couple hours a wheel.

    You will still have to hack up inside the dash a bit for the double din to fit, and the bezel too. Also move the A/C control down some, I'm afraid.o_O
