Thank you so much! Now I get how it goes, I guess it's just now come down to figuring out which one has that damper system on it when I shop online. The right side has been replaced already so my drivers side is acting up. Time to get a new one. I just want to get the right one
I need to replace my front shock absorber drivers side. I see a connector on the top which I'm assuming is the dampening system. Part number
19353945. I keep looking online and can't find a shock absorber with that top electrical connector on it.
My question is, is the dampening connector...
hopefully a post like this isn't too common, if so I apologize in advance. But I'm looking to run a power wire for my subwoofer. My battery is on the passenger side against the firewall. Are there's any existing rubber grommets on the passenger side firewall to get through under the carpet? Or...
Yes a pickle indeed. I can get a quarter to a half turn on it either way then it tightens up..HARD! I put a penetrating oil on it but completely ignored it because at the point I was thinking "if it's not coming off it's doing its purpose" and left it go. But now that I need to replace the cam...
im in a pickle..replaced my oil pump. Put the balancer back on, hand threaded 3-4 threads and then torqued it to 240ft lbs with the old bolt like ALLDATA stated. Went on with about 60lbs or torque (including resistance of balancer being pushed on).
Went to reverse the bolt out and I got about...
If I can let them take it and trade it in then fine. I owe 4,000 on it yet and at 118,000 even in poor condition it's still trade in value at 14,000. I might take that gamble
Let me ask you this, would it be okay to put new lifters in, cap it all up and find a new vehicle I want and just get rid of it? I didn't want to take it in the dealership sounding the way it did
Well the other issue I mentioned I wouldn't dive into is, when i went to put the Harmonic balancer on with the old bolt after replacing the bad oil pump...I went to take the old bolt out to put the new one in and I can't get the old bolt out..not even with a 600ft lb impact. Torqued it to 240...
:emotions122: I was told that I would be okay for the next 20k-30k before it starts tearing into the new lifter. I'm hoping it runs long enough for me to drive it into the dealership and dump it and get rid of it
I was replacing lifters in my 6.2 because of bad lifter noise from a previous oil pump failure. I found one of the rollers in the back with pitted spots all over it (pretty bad). Obviously I'm replacing all lifters. I rotated the cam and saw that there was some minor pitting on the top of the...
anyone here use the mysterious 50/50 mixture of acetone and tranny fluid as a penetrating oil? Saw stats on a test showing it works very very well. I was hoping to use it to break loose my exhaust manifold bolts because one already snapped. So I'm hoping this helps.
When the pump failed it got towed to the dealership and then I got it back from the dealership a week later after they fixed the EBCM. Because that's what it was going for and the oil pump went the same day I went to take it to the dealership. Anyways, I guess they ran it once or twice with no...
The pump failed because the valve in the pump was 90% stuck shut. I had to take screwdriver and slightly pry on it to break it free again. Doing the oil pump was the biggest job for me I've done. I don't know how hard it is to do the valves and cam..any videos or instructions? I wouldn't mind...
Are the afm lifters towards the back? Because it sounds like it's coming from the back side of the top end, on the passenger side mostly. I'm hoping nothing messes up the pump I just replaced :banghead:
By chance did it sound like this video I made? I'm having a top end issue today, DONT MIND THE SQUEAKING, that's the drive belt (not the issue). replaced the oil pump 2 days ago ran great until this morning i got this sound in the top end. Sounds to be near the back on the top end but can't...
Hey everyone I recently changed my oil pump in my 6.2 successfully. Ran great. 2 days later (today) I have a pinging sound coming from what I'm sure is at the top end. But can't narrow down exactly where. I took a video of it. It increases with the RPMs but it's not a very fast duration, it's on...
hey guys. Ive had my 07 Escalade 6.2 for anout 2 months now, haven't drove it for month due to having to replace the oil pump. So I figured the truck needed to re-learn itself.
But since I've owned the vehicle I've noticed the RPMs are high when downshifting, especially 2nd gear. Also feels like...
Well if I can't get it out I might just have the dealership deal with it. But I had an idea. If I have the old bolt on right now and it won't back out after I used it to install the balancer back on. I'll just tighten the bolt back up and leave it in. Because obviously it isn't coming out. I...
Yeah idk if I want to tackle this myself or just have it towed to the dealership and see what they can accomplish with it. Maybe they have a better technique or tools to figure out how to get it out. And if it's crossthreaded then maybe save the threads and rethread it for me and put it back on
I'm assuming that since I'll be working from the bottom that the crankshaft will come right out of the bottom. I shouldn't have to remove the rad and fans. It should just drop down out of the bottom once everything is properly removed. Correct?
#1is there a way to get to the crankshaft and remove it without pulling the engine? Possibly pulling the tranny? 6.2l 2007 Cadillac Escalade.#2 do the pistons need removed to replace the crankshaft? The crank pulley got put on either not straight or the bolt cross threaded and even a 600ft.lb...
Recently had an oil pump go bad in my 6.2. Discovered the valve in the pump was stuck 90% shut. After it being towed the minute it was discovered and then sitting at the dealership for a week. We towed it back to the house and I had no choice but to start it and back it into my garage. The...
Final update! I've located the issue! I took the week to tear apart the engine to get to the pump (work, the old lady ect.) and final got the oil pump out. I took the 6 cover bolts off to see what was going on inside. The gears seamed fine. Slim to none on any serious wear. But..if you look at...
UPDATE! Thank you natediggity!! This info helped a lot! Especially the Cadillac forum post! I had a hard time getting the last inch of the pan out because the steering rack hard line was in the way and then the diff was after that so I had to take the 6 bolts out of each IRS axle. But it came...
Hello everyone. As some know I need to replace the the oil pump on my 07 escalade 6.2L I have gotten the oil pan removed. Now I'm looking to get the harmonic balancer removed and then take the Front engine cover off.
My questions are is there anyone with knowledge on how to do the Harmonic...
