YOU ARE RIGHT ON !!!!! The Dealer said "We didn't do it!" LOL NOT OEM. The tab was missing, and it must have just corroded or something to make an intermittent contact. Cut it outta there! All's fine now. WHO'D KNOW!?!?!? Just dumb luck I found it when replacing the ignition switch as a...
THAT's exactly what my mechanic thought. I AM the 2nd owner. There a thing that pulls out of a part that was screwed to the lower dash. But - it has no tab or anything to easily pull it out. Without it = disabled. But...I can't help thinking it might be an OEM thing...radio controlled...
GOT IT ! But - what IS IT ?!?!? While installing a new ignition switch, found this. When holding in Start and nothing...hitting this caused it to start. Looks like some sorta starter interrupt. Taking it out = full start! Has "6900A" on it.
I think you mean the ECM (Engine Control Module) ? Replaced it. Passlock system wouldn't let it start til I had the Dealer program it. Worked fine for a month, then back to intermittent start.
Turn the key on. Dash lights come on. Turn to Start = nothing (no crank)! Try 5 or 6 times and maybe it'll start. Runs fine after that...but it's a crapshoot if it'll start again. May go weeks before this happens again.
Replaced: battery, Engine Control Module (programmed by Dealer), Starter Relay.
In the middle of West Virginia mountains...maybe Banjo Mtn, I broke down. Hit OnStar and got a reply. Something like "Out of service area" or "No connection" or something like that. OnStar is a TOTAL WASTE !!!
2005 XL. Always had it and was curious what & why. Only on cold startup and goes away after you drive it. Mentioned it when I picked it up from Dealer for something else and they say "normal". Just wondered after all these years what it is.
I had it done...drove it in, said I'd pick it up the next morning! They had to drop the front diff (I wouldn't be prepared to do in the driveway). And the gasket is riveted in!!! Yes, replace the O-ring. They also cleaned the intake screen (was 80% sludged up). That was the cause of low oil...
Broke down once in the mountains of WV. Hit the OnStar and got "No Service in Your Area". Canceled it when I got home. BTW - absolutely true = I don't/never have owned a cell phone! Now I wonder if my Smart TV is watching ME ??? LOL
You typed the words right off my post on a similar thread. Exact same problem: SLUDGE! Cleaned out the pan & screen...didn't need the O-ring but did it at that point. Pressure back to normal.
2005 XL had low oil pressure (22 at idle, 35 highway). Dropped the pan (a pain as you need to lower the front diff) and used a spatula to clean out the SLUDGE. The screen was like 80% blocked too. O-ring was fine but replaced it anyway. IT'S FIXED NOW: 38 at idle, 42-50 highway. That was all it...
You all have convinced me. Keep what I got (already did BOTH banks of lifters). Really wanted a Callaway conversion (560hp) on a new Yukon XL...but too many problems listed here on 2021's. Saw an older Callaway in the parking lot: "Sir...will you please quit licking my car"! LOL LOL Man, was...
2005 XL. Once-in-a-while I'll be driving, everything acts normal, and I'll see the N (red light) is on !?!?! If I stop and restart, it's off. Happened twice now.
Why are they here and why would they stay??? You need to look deep into that question. We have enough fossil fuels to last further into the future then we can see. We even used to be energy independent.
If you were to take it out yourself...I'm curious just how you will be transporting something like a 4x8 sheet of plywood to the upholsterer. The estimate they gave me for them to do it all was $900.
I was just trying to pick either a Denali XL or Suburban GC because they've got the 6.2. You've all convinced me...just keep my old Yukon XL with the 5.3 and be happy it doesn't have all these new-car problems!
