Yes, plug and play. Page 3 of this thread gives a little bit more detail about which mirrors this guy bought. Since you aren't trying to add video cameras on the mirrors, you don't need the harnesses.
Here’s an example of one you could buy. Although it has some of the extra bells and whistles, the price isn’t too bad. With a little digging I’m sure you could find some cheaper options without those extras...
I imagine that option exists for other bluetooth devices like headphones. For example: if you're working out, you may not want to be getting texts, emails and other notifications during your workout.
Got it. So did you cut the connector off the eski mirrors/cameras and hard wire those to the cameras/wiring via MVI? I'm trying to picture the connections there.
Which printer are you using? I bought a Prusa copy from Microcenter called the I3 Plus. It's been pretty good and I found it on sale for $300 so it wasn't cost prohibitive. I've been eyeing some of the new stuff coming from Prusa lately though and the emerging liquid printing is pretty...
There are a ton of files out here. I guess it just depends on what you're looking for. The parts I designed were very basic as I was new to 3d printing and didn't care if the part broke after some amount of time. In fact, I sold the car that I had printed the parts for. They PLA printed...
Honestly I had the PLA on hand and ready to go. The parts I printed were clips to hold the wheel well molding in place (most were there but 1 or 2 were missing). I wasn't too concerned about the parts being too flimsy at this point. Would love to see the tablet holders you design. Are you...
Bump. Also curious about the voltage for the stock escalade cameras. Do those operate on 12v? Anyone know? I spoke with the guys at ADC and their kit is setup for RCA's so they were concerned about 1. the connection type and 2, the voltage.
Just curious if anyone on the forum has experimented with 3d Printing parts for our trucks. I've designed a few body clips and trim clips and printed those in PLA which have held up well against the elements. I've been thinking about custom shrouds for fog lights and other miscellaneous parts...
There are several factors at play but assuming you have maintained the factory wheel/tire circumference and haven’t altered the speedo then yes....it’s still accurate.
I'm curious about this statement: "NOTE: Requires vehicle be equipped with 8″ display radio Radio / HMI module combination (RPO Code IO5 & IO6). 2017 vehicles with rear-seat entertainment system and/or one-piece radio systems (4.2″ or 7″) are not applicable."
I have a 2016 with the RSE...I...
Here is a pic of how the escalades are wired: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2015-2016-2017-Cadillac-ESCALADE-Passenger-Side-Mirror-23328986-84125256/142617929560?fits=Make%3ACadillac%7CModel%3AEscalade&epid=14012776539&hash=item2134b0e758:g:HP0AAOSwZqZaKbWg
Sweet! This is exactly what I want to do too plus the front camera (aftermarket). I’m curious about the wiring from the cameras to the mvi unit.

When do you think you’ll attempt the install?
