Battery was dying over the course of a few days and it finally died the other day. Tossed a battery charger on, put it to start and started up the truck. AC was blowing heat while set to 67 degrees and I noticed the outside temperature reading 55 degrees on the dash (was 90 outside)...
Edit, found the fix! All better now!

For some reason, my clock on the OEM head unit no longer works. I can...
This just started a few days ago on my 2011 Suburban. When the fan or AC is on there is a smell of burnt rubber/plastic coming out of the vents.
Anyone have this issue?
I have the same noise and I believe it's the starter gear not fully retracting. Google search "bell housing noise Chevrolet GMC 1999 Yukon". It's the same noise.
I have not had mine fixed yet but it's going in soon.
FWIW, I have a steep driveway and if I pull the truck in forward it rattles...
After about a week of rain, both of my rear doors on my Suburban were filled. This is the second time since I bought the truck new in 2011 that it's happened.
So...I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and now the check engine light is off, the AC works and so does auto-start.
I hope the error code was due to the gas cap not being on properly the other day.
Fingers crossed.
Short story...
I got gas on Monday and only drove a few miles and went home. Next morning used the auto-start and then headed off to a meeting. Came out of the meeting (it was snowing) so I went to auto start and nothing. Started the car and the check engine light came on. This was not on...
I guess the biggest question would be your location. Does the tires need to deal with snow or mud?
I have BFG KO2's on my Suburban but they are not really quiet but do work very well in the snow/rain/mud. When these need to be replaced I will probably go back to the Bridgestone Revo 2's that...
I get free oil changes for life at the dealership where I bought my Suburban in 2011......to date, I have yet to use them for any of the changes (80K on the clock).
It only takes 20min to do it yourself.
This! ^^^^
The range you get using your chin is night and day compared to just using the fob by itself. With a strong battery I can probably start the car from about 100yrds.
It's a good trick even if it makes you look a bit funny.
LOL....one of my tabs for the rear window defroster snapped off in the spring so I have not been using the read defroster (only the front). Didn't put 2 and 2 together until the other night. It works fine.
Now I'm gonna go smack myself upside the head!
Any idea on why my drivers side heated mirror is not heating up? Passenger side works fine but the drivers side is not working at all.
Ideas?
I searched but didn't find anything.
Thanks!
My local BFG dealer just needed one day to get them from the warehouse.
I really like the tire and the looks but not so much the loss of MPG. I think I have about 25K on them and still ton's of tread left which is good going into the winter (this will be winter #3 with these tires).
I run 275's KO2's on my stock Z71 Suburban with zero rubbing issues.
Not sure if I could get away with the 285"s.
BTW, the KO2's are also a true snow tire as they have the little snowflake on the sidewall. They absolutely rock in the snow!
Went from an 01 Tahoe Z71 to 11 Suburban Z71 and don't regret it at all. We are a family of 4 with 2 large dogs and both boys play soccer so at any given time there are multiple foldup chairs and one or two 10x10 EzUps in there. The extra room is great and even better when you pull out the...
I had my seat cover replaced under warranty. My crack showed up only after a few years of ownership and my dealer had no problem replacing it. However, the crack has returned so I'm not sure what to do since it most likely would not be covered under my extended warranty.
Truck has 79K on the...
I did look at some of the youtube vids and ended up doing the one where you pull back the fender liner to access the 10mm bolt holding the bottom of the light. Took about 15min for the 1st one, 5min for the 2nd one.
I still miss how easy my 2001 Tahoe was.
I searched but could not find my answer.
My low beam on my 2011 finally went out on one side so I need to replace it. Is here an "easy" way to replace this or am I taking the truck apart (I miss how easy it was in my 2001 Tahoe)?
Thanks!
Brian
