    1999 Tahoe LT a/c leak

Yes, there's an o-ring at the joint. Is it the problem? Maybe. Could be a crack in the pipe that you can't immediately see. Yes, you'll lose all the freon if the joint is opened up. I have done AC work, but not that specific joint. I have a vacuum pump & gages. I would evac the...

    95 Chevy Tahoe problem

So the steering wheel binds up when turning right? I'm willing to bet there's more damage that needs repaired. Frame is tweaked or something not allowing the steering links to operate normally....

What type of transmission fluid to use?

I've had no problems after a year with an exchange of DexVI....

    Illumination in window switchs

On my 2000 OBS I got OEM blubs from the dealer. They are available as a spare part. Just pop out the switch plates & remove them with a small flat bladed screwdriver.

    2004 With Low Oil Pressure

Put a different oil filter on it. Preferably a Delco/Wix one. See if anything changes.

Was the previous owner and idiot or was it a mechanic??

Spark plugs are a consumable. Every time it fires, a small amount of the electrode material is lost. So what starts as a 60 thou gap eventually works its way to a larger one....

Just changed oil now my pressure is crazy low!

Any autopart labeled Bosch has generally been shit in my experience...my oil changes involve regular dino oil & a Delco or Wix filter. Never had an issue....

    transmission maintenance.

I did a fluid exchange on mine when I purchased it last spring. It had 158K on the odo, and I have no reason to believe the fluid was anything but original. Dropped the pan & replaced the filter. Then I undid the top cooler line to the rad. Bought a plastic barbed & threaded fitting...

    Snow tires

I've had good performace from Winterforces...and their predecessor, Winterfires. 12 years in the snow belt with a 2WD S10 driving 20+ miles to work....each way. For the price, I've got no complaints.

    Differential Service

My factory cover had a magnet on it. I believe you'll find yours does, too. Gasket vs. RTV? You'll get all kinds of answers on this. I used a gasket. Truth is, either way done right will be fine; and done wrong they'll both leak. As for a how-to, I'm sure they're out there on various...

Looking to buy '99 Yukon SLT - Question(s)

While I've not done either reapir, I've turned quite a few bolts over the years & I'd say neither one of them are too difficult. The trick will be proper diagnosis of what's wrong. If you hear the thunk of the xfer case engaging, that's good & the issue is more than likely limited to the front...

    Replace transmission fluid?

I was able to drop the trans pan on my 2000 without removing the shifter bracket. And GM expects you to use a fluid transfer hand pump to refill the transfer case. $7 at Harbor Freight.....

    PA Inspection....FAIL

I don't mind safety inspections. Just wish they'd focus on the things that made a difference to the motorists sharing the road like bad brakes, shot ball joints, and inop brake lights.

    This worth it?

3 of my 4 vehicles are older than '02; and they can be & are driven anywhere daily. Condition is everything, what year it was made means nothing. Having said that, don't get your hopes up for that TB. There's generally a reason cheap vehicles are cheap.

    CSFI to MPFI conversion identification

Hi - Is there an easy & positive visual inspection method to determine which injection system is currently installed? I don't have maintenance records from the previous owner, so I don't know which system is in my '00 Tahoe. I tried to search, but didn't have any luck..... HH

    where to get new windshield?

Can't comment on Houston in particular, but I'd get referrals from bumpshops & dealers. Pretty sure they subcontract their glasswork out rather than doing it in-house. You should be able to get the skinny pretty quick.

    Trans cooler flow direction ?

Well, I figured it out. The fluid flow at the top cooler line is OUT from the radiator. The job is done. Bought 11 qts of SuperTech DexVI (everything they had on the shelf), a plastic barbed fitting & some clear vinyl hose. Unhooked the cooler line, worked the fitting into the rad outlet...

    Trans cooler flow direction ?

Hi I'm going to change the fluid in the trans to DexVI and want to unhook the top cooler line & use the trans to pump out the fluid. Having said that, does anyone know which way the fluid flows? Should I plan for fluid to come out of the radiator or the cooler line? It seems as though...

    z71 bumper?

Can't say for sure as I'm not familiar with that bull bar; but I can say the stock brush guard on mine does not cover the fog holes.

    z71 bumper?

PN 39-5604 is the part in primer. I got one for my z71 & had the local bumpshop shoot it pewter. Very happy with the fit & looks alot better than the rusted OE one.

    Replaced my door lock actuators

Yep, one of the benefits of woking on an '07 versus a '00 OBS. But the pop-rivets work just fine for what they need to do, and I got a new tool out of the deal!
