    Dfm delete

No idea when the original motor was built but it’s a 21. Could be wrong but it seems mine loosing rod bearings at 64k miles is a bit of an outlier as most failures I’ve heard of have been crank bearings in low mileage engines.

    Dfm delete

I suspected a failed lifter but after pulling the valve covers and finding everything tight and talked to the service advisor at the dealer had it towed in. Ended up being 5&6 rod bearings so the motor was replaced. I would still like to do a delete or atleast a tune on the new motor but it came...

    6.2 failure

Picked up the Yukon from the dealer this afternoon! I paid extra out of pocket for new plugs & wires, the active grill shutters were broke so I had those replaced, had them replace some steering wheel radio controls that sometimes didn’t work, replace trans filter and install a PPE deep trans...

    6.2 failure

Just heard back from the service advisor, they confirmed seized crank bearing and engine will need to be replace. Total cost is $10,140 and Gm is covering 70%! While situation sucks but I’m surprised and very happy Gm is stepping up that much! Going to have them do a trans service and install a...

    6.2L Engine Wait Times...

My Yukon is in for a new engine, service advisor told me they are getting 6.2’s 2-3 weeks after ordering. They are a very high volume service department though and they order 3 a week typically he says.

    6.2 failure

Turns out a close family friend that’s a retired Gm tech is really good friends with a service advisor and the service manager at the dealer a couple miles from me. They say no doubt that a main bearing has or is failing and will need a new motor at about 12k but from their experience Gm should...

    6.2 failure

Unfortunately it’s not back in service yet. Ticking that sounds like a lifter that starts at about 2000rpms and stalling when coming to a stop. Pulled the valve covers and everything appears fine at a glance but haven’t had time to pull the rockers are pushrods yet. Engine is still almost...

Just an fyi for everyone since I haven’t seen this information out there yet. Mail order tuners as well trifecta are tuning 2021+ suvs it’s just not listed on their sites, both are about $1500. Texas speed also has all of the hard parts for dfm delete and cam upgrades. Once I pull my valve...

    6.2 failure

Wish I could fine tuning for it, I’d order the dfm delete and a cam like I did on our old Tahoe. Only way I can find to turn it off is installing the whipple kit which would only be a little impractical!

    6.2 failure

Spoke to soon I guess, I putted around the neighborhood last night after I got it together and everything seemed fine. Changed the oil this morning for good measure and went for a test drive, at about 2k rpms starts ticking light the 07 Tahoe did when the arm lifters went out. Died on me coming...

    6.2 failure

It appears I’m back in business! Got the starter out and jumped it and it was definitely not working properly. Also found the 400amp lug on the power distribution block did not have continuity, replace both this morning and she fired right up!

    6.2 failure

Yeah I need to dig into it further for sure. I’ve always done all my own work from general maintenance to rebuilding the 5.3 in our 07 Tahoe and building a 408 stroker we put in my father in laws 06 Chevy. I didn’t want to have to work on a daily driver anymore which is why I bought this car so...

    6.2 failure

Been playing around with it some more as the dealer can’t get it in anyways. I pulled the starter loose and it still only click once when you try to start it. Battery voltage was down to 6.5 volts per my multimeter after having had the charger on it all night a few days ago, put the charger back...

    6.2 failure

Haven’t pulled the plugs, I changed the idler pulley and belt last year and used the same breaker bar to turn the crank to get the belt on and it was no where near as difficult to turn. I am going to drain the oil tomorrow and see how it looks. Dealer said 10k to replace but Gm might cover some.

    6.2 failure

Hi everyone, My wife’s 2021 Yukon Denali died as she was pulling into a parking lot last night. Same story that’s been posted several times, everything seems fine then It just shuts off and won’t turn over and the starter just clicks. I put a 3ft breaker bar on the crank bolt this morning and it...
