    Rear Engine Oil Leak Causes

Had a persistent and getting worse oil leak on the rear part of the engine of our 2009 Yukon. Changed the oil bypass cover and gasket above the oil filter, oil pressure sensor, Oil Pan gasket (a royal pain in the Butt), tighten all VLOM cover bolts, all with no success other than making it a bit...

Used or Salvage Engine Purchase Ideas

Recently needed an engine to replace the 234 k mile engine in our "09 Yukon Hybrid. Since they are a bit unique had to search the country. Found a 130 k mile one pretty close and the pics looked good. Had an idea to do a carfax on the vin and discovered the truck had the registration renewed in...

    Mobil 1 212, 212A oil filter changes

I have been using the Mobil 1 Oil filters on my vehicles for quite a while and use the M1-212 on my 13 Denali since it is longer and has more filter area than the original. Mobil recently replaced the M1-212 with the M1-212A which is supposed to be "Extended Performance". Below are 2 pictures...

    2013 normal operating fuel pressure?

My 2013 Denali recently dropped mileage a decent amount and developed a slightly rough idle. Have run 2 tanks of fuel injector cleaner, check for leaking injector (no pressure loss on sitting off for 10 minutes), and no misfire codes. Checking fuel pressure found static and startup 60 psi, then...

Indiana penalty for having a Hybrid

Indiana in their infinite wisdom decided Hybrid owners are not paying their fair share of road tax because they get such great mileage, so ALL hybrids have to pay an additional $50 every year at registration time. Problem is they didn't do ANY research or they would know that a 2009 GM Hybrid...

How to find your dipstick tube

Having trouble finding your dipstick tube to get the stick back in? I painted the end of my tube with white paint, which makes it easy to find in the dark area it is located in.

Dash lights not on during day

My sons 07 Yukon does not have the dash lights(gauges) lit during the day, which makes them hard to read often times. Is there a way to change that? My 09 works like I would expect, on during the day. Wondered if this was an 07 thing or something not set right.

Difference between 09 and 11 Hybrid fuel economy

Everyone pretty much knows the highway mileage rating on the 11 Hybrid is 23 versus the 20 on the 09. I have an 09 and just yesterday test drove an 11 Denali Hybrid. Noticed a couple of things, but the first is the 11 went into V4 mode a lot more on the highway than my 09. Noticeably more time...

    Overfull hybrid Transmission

Getting ready to change the fluid/filter for the trans on my new 120,000 mile Hybrid. Noticed the level shows about 3/4" over the hot full mark when the trans is cold. I have read a couple of other guys who had overfilled (by the dipstick) hybrids. Not sure mine has ever been worked on/added to...

    LED lamp upgrade questions

Several here have updated exterior lamps to LED. Can anyone answer a couple of questions I haven't found in a search? Does changing brake and turn signals to LED require a special flasher to keep from "hyperflashing"? What is a good source to find them and does anyone have part numbers for...

    Finally did it, Yukon Hybrid!

After lusting for a Hybrid for several years, I finally found a like new one that I could afford, a 2009 Yukon. Highly recommend Jim King of King Motor Company, Marion Arkansas, just west of Memphis. He carries only super nice, higher mileage vehicles, often Hybrids, and has a Silverado hybrid...

    New Model Price Comparison

Just as a thought starter: Local dealer has 3 new Tahoes, 2 LS and 1 LTZ. The LS's are $48,900 and the LTZ is $70,900. Same 4wd, same engine, same drivetrain, same body and frame, same 3rd row seats, nice aluminum wheels and decent tires, and the LS's are not strippers by any means but do have...
