So this was part of the relay kit I got, yes past tense, I cut it off bc it was reaching high tempts and anything that touched it would melt. I didn't notice no difference after removing it

That's a resistor. With fins to dissipate heat. I would think, without that, you're going to fry some hid components.

It is a resistor but for vehicles that show burn bulbs

I think you need the canbus harness, not the relay harness.

The canbus, is to eliminate codes and that's it, at least from what I know.

OK so even with the relay kit the lights still flicker, it came with a 30 amp relay, I've notice that most kits come with 40 so I'm going to go to the shop and ask them to replace it for the right one and let's see what happens

I have yet to try (will be this weekend on an Equinox) but the canbus piece is supposed to help with the flicker. For $10 its worth a shot.

i changed it to 35w canbus to get rid of the relay and any other issue. working fine so far.
55w was pulling to much even do it was 9-16 v

i will be using those balast for my fog lights instead and will order 55w with canbus for the head lamps to avoid any headaches

Does anyone know why after installing a kit with a canbus, the lights are always on and auto doesn't work.

any idea why?

other than that, no more issues
