OEM CD player 911!

The OEM 6 disk changer in my 04 z71 had a mechanical issue in the cd changer. I took it apart pulled out 3 CDs all broken, one had a paper type sticker on it that was wadded up. Put everything back together and the system still doesn't recognize CD player, can't load, says no discs. The "carrier" that pulls the CDs into the changer has literally no movement and is physically blocking any cd going into the changer once the face is back on. It's like it's all the way up and even under power it doesn't reset. Should I try to find the cd changer section out of another vehicle? I'm new to gm so what would be the best option? Thanks for any help. I think I included a photo of the cd changer out showing the current location of the "carrier" for lack of a better term in its up location.

EBay is your friend here. You should be able to find a new unit for around $30. I sold mine awhile back for about that much. Get the part # off it to be sure you're getting an exact match.

Thanks for your help, found a gm salvage yard about 10 mins from my house, going to check with him tomorrow and see if they have a clean unit as I need to replace buttons as well. I need to go for other parts as well so it'll be worth it. I should be ok replacing the changer as well as buttons as long as I leave the circuit boards with in original as far as theft issues?

I was thinking you're talking about the type of changer that's separate from the head unit, and if so you should be fine with swapping the whole unit out. I know on mine even the HU didn't need a security code.
