Hi everyone,
I have four little kids and one more on the way, so a Suburban or Yukon XL is absolutely in our near future (we have an Enclave now and while we like it, we definitely need something bigger!). That said, I've looked at the Chevy and GMC websites and have confirmed that I can't opt in for the 9 passenger seating with any other model than the base for either car. Therefore, no features that we would really like, and in some cases, need.

Do you all know if swapping out the center console with a third seat in front is pretty easy for the 2015 and beyond nicer models of the Suburban/Yukon XL (LT/LTZ or SLT/Denali)? If it's an easy swap, it's an easy purchase. If not, it's a little more difficult, as I need the extra seat for carpooling/grandparents. If it's an easy swap, can it be done by myself or should I bring it to a car person?

Thanks for advice in advance!

It's fairly easy. It shouldn't take you long. Jump seat consoles for the 2015's tend to go for a lot less than 07-14 models on ebay. It's a pretty basic install. Save your money and do it yourself. If the 15's have the silly star nuts on the seat mounts, you can get the sockets for them cheap at Harbor Freight. Check out my albums. I've got a 2011 but the process is pretty similar.

one other question - from the looks of the pictures in the yukon xl SLT, there are controls (seat heaters, cup holders, etc.) that are in the middle of the two seats in the 2/3/3 or 2/2/3 configuration. would i lose those features if i swap out the jump seat?
