So we got one of our Yukons keyed majorly to the point where we need to repaint the whole thing. So I figured it would be a great chance to change it up a little bit.
To start off my wifes Yukon is an 05 Teal Blue and we've received a lot of compliments on the color change.
So I take it to this place I am not a fan of anymore but that's another story. I told the guy, I wanted the same paint to start off but could we possibly add Candy or Pearl to make it stand out when next to another one that's the same color? He said Candy would be another grand but we could go with Metalflake and Pearl. I decided to go with Chrome metalflake because I figured it went with blue. In retrospect, I should have gone with green metalflake and you'll see why.
The guy at the shop showed me two cans, one that had the paint, (very nice and you could see the green in the light) and another smaller can with what looked like crushed liquefied pearls. (also very nice looking) he said the metalflake will be added just before painting. Turns out the chrome metalflake drowns out the green too much that it doesn't have that color change effect anymore.
Anyway, my wife said she likes it and after going back and forth with them about wet sanding and such this is the result.
