...Eco Boost last night !! From a dead stop jumped him a full length that grew to 2 lengths by 85. We then hit it from a roll...from a 25 MPH roll I was holding in 2nd..he jumped me a half length that I had back when I hit third... after that it was Arrivederci Baby !!

I tried to get him to stop and talk ...but he just flipped me off and tucked tail.

Diablo In Tune Rocks !!

Damn John when you go all in you ain't messing around. I live in soccer mom land so no fun stuff and WAY too much traffic for any of that. Nobody ever does that around here and all I ever see except ONE guy have LTZ's with someone on the phone driving them... NOW, if I get the toy car out geez.. every mustang / camaro want to race... 640hp tuned Twin turbo V12 eats them for lunch... that car will put me in the slammer for sure...

Lance,

It was one of those "Henry vs the General " things...you know how it goes. Here in suburban Ft. Lauderdale any thing can happen in the street scene! LOL

Have you taken it to the track/dyno? What does your Yukon run? Are you sure it was an ECOBoost and which year/model?

Question 1...Not yet.

Question 2....2016... Eco Boost emblem affixed....found out later it was a salesman from a local Ford Dealer.

Investigation reveals that they do have a "Turbo Lag" problem and and that gasoline grade can affect output.

As a former EcoBoost owner, racing from a stop without engine braking to build boost is useless. Even when Car and Driver compared the big 3 pickups they realized that 0-60 was affected by almost 2 seconds if you simply stomped on the gas vs engine braking to build a little boost before starting. Yukon John has seen my dyno from my EcoBoost...2WD was useless. If I wanted to get anywhere it had to be in 4WD or else it was wheel hop and tire smoke. Stock vs Stock, the 2 are pretty even...EcoBoost has more TQ down low, 5.3 has a little more top end. If both are tuned and you are in the 5.3...pretend to be changing the radio station!

For the record, I'm a "former" EcoBoost owner not because I was dissatisfied, the family grew, I needed seating for 8 + camping gear and the Suburban was much more acomodating. I miss the 3.5TT but I guess its part of the sacrifices you make for the kids!

Daniel...there is definitely a Turbo Lag issue...I will say this though...my 2016 Yukon 5.3 3:42 "Launches" as strong as anything I've ever driven.

My 2004 Mercedes S500 runs 0-60 under 5 seconds and I recently ran it against the Yukon. Honestly the S500 was playing a serious game of catch up after getting whipped badly for the first 150~200 ft.

Remember guys...we're talking about SUV's weighing almost 3 tons !! With naturally aspirated 325 cu. in. engines....a true testament of the advancement of technology for sure !!!
