Fair price?

Hello!

I'm a loong time lurker, first time poster.

Long story short, I have wanted a very particular z71 Tahoe for a while now(years). I want a '05 or '06, Black with tan, 2nd row captains, third row, DVD player, electronic climate control, and I'd like the nav but that's not a deal breaker.

Finding one with low miles for a good price in Arkansas or around Memphis has proved problematic. The black/tan combo is very popular and they seem to go fast.

That being said, on the way to our 3rd family thanksgiving today, I spotted one with a for sale sign. I stopped and checked it out. It is literally exactly what I want. Down to the last detail. The only catch is 197k on the odometer. Asking price is 8k. KBB has the price at 7,300 for good condition. I believe I could get them down but to be honest it probably won't last long even at 8k.

What are your thoughts on price? Should anything be holding me back? My wife and I are both teachers so I don't have a ton of spare change for fixes as of now.

Thoughts?

I bought my 05 LT this past summer. Options include : sunroof, DVD, heated seats, 3rd row. I gave $5,500 for mine. BUT, mine needed tires, and a few minor fixes. Mine had 188,000 on it when purchased, and I would not be afraid to drive anywhere. That being said, by the time I finish all my repairs, I will be close to the asking price of the one you are looking at. If it's in good shape, probably not that bad of a deal. Especially if you could get her for $7300-$7500. Good luck.

JR79, thanks for the advice! It has new tires and breaks, so that eliminates a little worry on that front. I need to check the heads and all the other stuff in the "so you're about to buy a new" thread. Trying to stay level headed!

Check to see if it has air ride/shocks and determine if the system works
