I had a 2015 Yukon Denali and had numerous issues, noises, rattles, dings, warranty replacements, etc and traded it in for a 2016 Yukon Denali to remediate the aforementioned and also to get the 2015i and 2016 upgrades.

Everything thus far is great, but my wife and I both noticed that the heads up display was "different." Driving the 2015 daily and on long trips, we are both very familiar and have a good baseline for what the heads up display should look like. The one on our 2016 feels a bit less crisp (at all brightness levels) / a tad more blurry. Also, it seems as though there is a much smaller "sweet spot." Meaning a slight tilt of the head will start to distort the display between the images and rows (i.e., the spacing between the speed, compass, adaptive cruise indicator, current song, etc.).

Has anyone else experienced this? Should we just deal with it / change our habits to always be in the narrower sweet spot?

I have a feeling that a fix would take quite a bit of time and effort to diagnose and then will likely require ripping up the dash and stuff like that.

Note that i did take the screen cleaning cloth and cleaned the exterior of the housing but it didn't improve it.

I'm getting them in both of the vehicles I have on order that being said if you feel it's not working correctly I'd bring it in and not just settle. I understand it's a hassle but better to be fixed now then to wait maybe yours is defective PS I haven't gotten the vehicle yet still waiting for factory to pick up order so I can't help you there but as soon as I do pics will be going up

A HUD in a vehicle is awesome it adds to your situational awareness and keeps you focused on the road I believe that one day this will replace the " dashboard " as many drivers spend too much time looking around and not focused on the road. Don't believe me look on Utube for cnet automotive HUD some real cool stuff coming our way

Yep, the previous link is definitely what we are seeing. Unfortunately, the dealership wouldn't do anything about it. They wouldn't replace the windshield as a warranty item (as stated as the fix for the 2015 Escalade) but would at my own expense since there isn't any notices out on the 2016 Yukon Denali's. I sat in another one on the lot and it had it too. I figure they'll come out with a notice at some point and then we'll get it fixed.

For now, we'll just keep our heads in the narrower sweet spot, where the two images (foreground and background) align. That and we also noticed that it's more bearable if you turn the brightness down really really low - then the background image will almost fade away.

Thanks for the quick response! Looks like we don't have the option. Plane is a Piper Arrow IV
