My stereo wire harness was spliced and rigged up so I went ahead and cut it off with plans to replace it. I looked up wire diagrams and color codes before I cut it, and it seemed pretty straight forward.

The plan was to cut it off, then hook up (without a harness) an old head unit to see if the 4 door speakers need to be replaced. The factory speakers have been replaced with Sony but I have no idea if they are any good.

Anyway as I was taping the wires I realized they weren't matching the "diagram" that I had, so I searched and came up with 3 different diagrams, none matching the wires I was taping.

It's a 2002 LS Tahoe. Has a factory sub which I don't plan to use.
Anybody have the correct color codes for me?

Here is what I have;
Black
Brown
Grey
Purple
Green/White
Brown
Green
Green

Brown
Blue
Tan
Light Green
Light Green
Orange

Any advice? I'm going to a junkyard or 2 tomorrow. Hopefully I can match up a harness for these 16 wires

Advice is, never cut the oem harness unless your a pro and doing a very detailed install. But most don't even touch it, they run fresh wire for everything.

Thanks. Previous owner spliced into half of the wires and some were melted.

Did you ever figure out which wire needs to be connected to the stereo head's remote blue and white wire?
I need to trigger the factory amp so all of my speakers will work.
I can't find a diagram with the correct wire colors, but you have the same wires as me.

Please help, Thanks
