'22 Tahoe LED Backup Bulbs - DO NOT

We picked up a '22 Tahoe RST with the Babymax for the wife about a month ago. I've been tinkering with random things and decided to throw some LED backup bulbs in it for her.

Well a day or two after I did that her infotainment system started acting up. It would get stuck in camera mode and when you'd click the little X to exit, it wouldn't do anything. The radio still worked fine, but the screen would stay on a dark camera mode.

Long story short, I didn't have time to take the bulbs back out to see if they caused problem, so she took it into the dealership. According to the dealership, the backup camera is engaged/disengaged by the voltage sensed through the backup bulbs. Without the proper draw to meet the set parameters, the camera essentially didn't know when to shut off and would stay partially engaged.

I'm not sure if adding resistors would fix the problem, but since it's not my vehicle, I don't really feel like messing with it anymore to give her brighter backup bulbs. $20 LED bulbs ending up costing $300 for the dealer to diagnose and repair lol.

I just came across this in my 23 Z71. It sucks that this is that way. Looking for other possibilities.

Just add 50w 6ohm resistors and the LEDS will work great with no error codes or screen problems!
