Would you buy your Yukon or Tahoe again?

Bought Camry , Tacoma, and Highlander brand new within two years. Only one we didn't have problems with was the Camry. The Camry Dashboard is now "melting" but covered by TSB. Sunvisor fell off but daughter didn't take advantage of recall in time frame. Highlander also had rear hatch hinges and seals replaced under warranty ( leaked dust and water) and spent 2 weeks of our first month of ownership at dealer with an elusive short in the "downhill mode". Tacoma heater motor was intermittent but wouldn't go out at dealer, banged on dashboard and it would come on. finally went out for good and dealer said "warranty expired" As posted earlier, the lack of dealer service put the last nail in the Toyota coffin for our family. Giving GMC and Honda a chance, wondering about Honda but that is a post for a different forum.......................

I've had my 2017 Denali XL for over a year now. Love the car except for the inconsistent 1-2 shift under medium throttle. Everything else is perfect. Would definitely buy the car again but only with the new 10 speed. Would not but the car again with the current 8 speed.

Maybe BlackBear can fix that for you???

Id buy mine all over again. It's the best vehicle I've had in my 50 years of driving: 2016 Tahoe LTZ, bought new August 2016, now has 40,000 miles.

But then again, if I was doing over, I'd buy used one-year old Tahoe, and save 30%.

We rented a Sequioa for a week before we bought a 2016 Tahoe.

The driving dynamics of all these vehicles suck compared to modern sedans and crossovers. But the Tahoe was substantially better in comfort, styling and fuel economy.

Two of the vehicles most often driven over 200,000 miles: Land Bruiser, and Tahoe/Yukon.

I love my '07. I have over 300,000 on it. And I like the look and would certainly go after another one.

NBS-yes

NNBS - No, multiple dash cracks, interior rattles and oil consumption. AFM problems.

14+ yet to determine. Kinda frustrated that I am about to pull the driveline from a 50k mile truck and have it checked due to chevy shake.

I was hesitant to go from Japanese/Honda/Toy to US/GM. But glad I did. LT with 24K miles and no issues. Tons of utility and comfort on road trips. Con's are high price and moreso the quick drop in residual value. Would buy again - maybe a Denali next time if cash allows.

I have a 2015 Denali XL that I bought new in 14. There a quite a few things that I like about it, but the bad things outweigh the good. 1...When using the cruise control on the highway or interstate, the vehicle will actually activates the brakes to slow down. It has a tendency to over accelerate down hill then brake and then it forgets to accelerate on the uphill until it looses 4-5 MPH, so it will vary from the "set speed" 4-5 too high and 4-5 too low. Drives me nuts. The dealership says it is within acceptable range and there is nothing they can do. 2...The brakes (all 4 corners) had to be replaced at 80,000 miles. 80% of my driving is highway / interstate and with previous vehicles, I'm usually at least double that but with this thing accelerating and then braking (cruise control), it is always working the brakes. 3...I had to replace all 4 shocks at 80,000 miles at a cost of over $3,000.00. This would be easier to accept if the shocks made the truck ride better, but it rides like a lumber wagon.

All in all, I love the practicality of the vehicle, but it is very irritating to drive.

I probably would not buy my 2018 Yukon Denali again if I had the chance. I have had no problems with the vehicle so far. Have only owned it for 6 months and just turned over 4k miles. I traded a 2013 Lexus RX 450h. All I can say is that the Denali is no Lexus!

In all fairness, the magnetic ride control makes for a great ride. It is a great vehicle for traveling, except when you have to fill up with gas. :) There are just too many "What were they thinking of!" things when it comes to implementation of features. Just a lot of goofy things like if you use Android Auto you can't tell time because the clock is on the NAV screen and you loose that!

I also have the Open Road Package which includes 12 months of XM Radio. I never got that! I have been fighting with my dealer and GMC about that. GMC Corporate says it is not their problem it is XM's problem. I say I paid GMC so they are responsible whoever has the problem. XM has given me a couple of months extra but the fight continues. I'm ready to throw in the towel on the remaining 6 months!!!

So in the end, I've owned 3 Lexus RX Hybrids (my wife has a 2017) and the ownership experience far exceeds what I have experienced with my 2018 Yukon Denali so far.

What's up guys...brand new to the forum. I am a current Toyota owner (Tundra and Land Cruiser) and our last 5-6 vehicles have been Toyota or Lexus. Despite the fact that they are boring with not a lot of bells and whistles, the reliability is what has kept me coming back. That said, I came really close to buying a Yukon Denali a couple years ago for my wife until we stumbled onto all the online threads/articles about the booming/buffeting. That's when we decided to stick with Toyota and go with a certified pre-owned '14 Land Cruiser.

My Tundra Limited is an '08 and still in really good shape (only 150k miles) but I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a new vehicle. That said...I absolutely LOVE the look, size, and features of these Yukons however the nightmare stories that I read online about vehicle problems and/or horror stories about getting shafted by the dealer scares the crap out of me. This is a huge investment to have to deal with a ton of vehicle/dealership problems.

So my question to you is...if you had to do it over again, would you buy another Tahoe or Yukon? There are so many of these things on the road...it is hard for me to understand whether the horror stories and negative reviews online are the minority, or the majority and folks keep buying them anyway.

Maybe, I love our 2009 Tahoe LTZ ride and features. I am disappointed with oil usage, 1 quart every 1200 miles with only 115,000 miles on it. I would get the GMC or Cadillac with the 6.2 engine, unless Chevy has the 5.3 oil issue corrected. When I replace the Tahoe I am looking at the Cadillac or Mercedes GL550.
