Ok, so, serious question here. I know I can get more selling outright than in trade. What do you guys think?

2012, 122k miles. LTZ, every option minus power steps.

Interior probably a 7/10, reason for this is because the driver's grab handle is jacked up, lol. Small crack in the dash (normal spot) and the carpet is pretty clean for 4 kids. Might have a faint spot or 3 here and there.

Exterior, I'd say the same 7/10. Paint is in good shape in general. I can spruce it up, I detail. Has the normal nick and dent here and there. After all, it's almost 6 years old.

I'm sure you already know, but how quickly you wanna get out of it and into the new one and how badly the dealer wants to move a unit determine how big the private sale-versus-trade gap will be. To you and John Q. Public, it's a clean and nice SUV. To a dealer, it's a 2-3 prior generation eyesore that you're trying to burden them with. Your best bet with selling or trading is to recondition it as much as you're willing to do so. Most anything aftermarket or modified hurts value. Potential buyers (dealers included) see things were messed with and it gives them leverage against you. Having said that, I'd be willing to trade my bowties for your color-matched ones and maybe my stock wheels for your 22" reps. :deal:

Really, though, I'm poor.

If it was mine, I'd list it for around 20k. Take some good quality pics. Always people on the look out for super clean Burb to haul the family around in.

I usually trade because, at least in Iowa, you do not pay tax on the trade in portion. In this case if you could get (throwing numbers out) $17K on trade and you buy a $30k vehicle you only pay tax on $13k vs. $30k. So you would pay an additional $1190 in taxes if you sold outright and bought the vehicle outright.
