Full size spare?

What’s up with getting 22in rims on the RST and getting a 17in spare?

That's just the way it is. No need for it when it's for temporary use and is about if not the exact same height anyway. On the GMT900s you could change the hoist and store a 22" wheeled spare down there; it was an option if I recall correctly.

Still don’t understand how they say full size spare when the stock tire is 18 and the spare 17! My 2016 2500 spare matches.

Yep, at least you got a spare. My '08 Tahoe Hybrid has no spare at all. Just a can of "Fix-A-Flat". Fortunately, we have exactly one flat, and that was with a brand new tire when my wife hit a pipe and cut a hole in the sidewall.
