Interesting with the IRS on the spyshots I understand why they had to do it, although admittedly I was hoping maybe they would offer both IRS or solid axle depending on trim/edition.

I'm a very small demographic of customer who was attracted to the GM SUV's because they had the solid axle. If all the manufacturer offerings become IRS it would flatten the pool of choices for me for next generation.

More evidence, that IBR is really going to happen. And WOW, Car and Driver is saying the redesigned 2020 will be unveiled this January 2019...that's 8 short months from now! And even more exciting they're saying that the 2020 model may be for sale next spring, which is now less than a year away.

This is close to consistent with some other articles where GM folks have said "summer of 2020". Sounds like the 2019 model run will be pretty short.

Well I hope the IRS doesn't lower the towing capacity, if it does the next generation won't work for us. What's next four cylinders in full size trucks? Oh wait....

I don’t think it will. Ford Expedition has IBR and still has a higher towing capacity than Tahoe/Suburban.
