Ordered a Pioneer DEH-S6000BS today. Should be here soon. Not gonna worry about much more of the sound system aspect for a while but this will at least be a good basis for when I start down that road at some point.

Finally got around to:

A.) swapping the 3.42 to 4.10 diff regear.
B.) Also, tore into the transfer case that was plaguing me for the last several months.

i found out that the old shop had installed some parts bass-ackwards which caused some parts to overheat, melt and fuse. No wonder the 4lo wouldnt engage. So with that, the only other item on my checklist is the MPFI which I hope to tear into this week before my next trip.

Picked this up as a "mechanic special" ($500 140k miles) on CL, swapped out the fuel pump and replaced leaking intake manifold gaskets and related gaskets as well as water pump. Gave it an oil change, coolant flush, front and rear diff service, replaced front brakes (metal to metal), replaced inner and outer tie rods, gave it an allingment and balanced wheels. Will finish up the "Tune up" sometime this week. Runs like a champ as is. Had the front windows tinted to match the rest and installed my spare sound system. Ordered a set of Aftermarket headlights last night, led interior lights also on their way. Full detail coming up as soon as the guys at work can squeeze it in.

Exactly what had they installed incorrectly? This info would be valuable as a check for inspecting the work of other shops.
