Oh yeah I watched that about 3 times. He made it look so easy, did almost all of it with 1 hand. That was NOT my dash lol. Mine was so brittle that everything tried to break. The places where the front flat part snaps into the main dash piece- 2 of 5 broke. The fingers on the flat piece where they slide into the main dash piece- 4 of 5 broke. The holes where the wiring snaps into the top on the main dash- 2 of 4 broke out. The area around the air bag- 2-3 more large cracks happened. The area over the top by the IC- 3 more large cracks happened. The areas where the 10 mm bolts go in- 2 of 4 broke when just removing the bolts. Etc etc etc. I should have known, I've watched enough YT videos to know that it usually isn't the case. They all look so easy, makes me wonder how many times those guys do that particular thing before they make a video. That guy had obviously done quite a few, plus he knew which ones to NOT video, like mine. He never mentioned anything about them being brittle which would have been a great alert. I'm sure he knew. If he would have taken mine apart like he did that one, it would have been in pieces. Ass.

Seems like the dash is a situation no one can win. Might be worth the time to Fiberglass it while it's out . Pain in the ass but no more cracks and a chance to paint it.

You didn't see where I added steel rods and epoxied them in place? The flat part that goes against the windshield was a lost cause so I ordered a new one. The only other thing I'll probably do is buy a new dash piece and then reinforce it before I install it.

Oh lol. No thanks, that's not in my plans. I want it to look OEM. Not fond of the smooth dash look, plus if I did that it, it would look like poop due to my lack of bodywork skills.No I wasn't paying attention

How difficult would it be to wrap the dash with leather?

Back on page 78 we were talking about wrapping it. I imagine leather would be about the same as a vinyl wrap. Either way, I haven't seen it done yet and I can see why. I think it would be very hard due to the complex shapes.

Wonder how much an upholstery shop would charge?
Shouldn't be too difficult for guys who do it all day everyday... they probably would know just what material to use to make it easy.
