So i just got my first tahoe ever !!!! New hobby lol it has 200k. Im trying to change every fluid there is with new good oil. I know transmission fluid is a critical part so i just got the best one i saw. Can you please let me know if its ok if i use this for it? 04 tahoe 5.3 4wd. I got royal purple transmission and dif fluid to do both. I also order a transmission cooler. Tru-cool max transmission cooler 40,000 . I got the 2 transmission lines from advance auto ( doorman) . Any suggestions? Also are they the only two transmission cooler lines ? Im changing them because they are leaking a little. Im trying to take care and make sure the transmission is nice and cool at all times Here are some pictures . Thank you in advance

what color is the trans fluid now? if its dark and has a burnt smell, dont flush it, just do a pan drop and filter. changing all the fluid can kill a high mile tranny if its not been serviced over its life time. at 200,000 theres a good chance its pretty dark, unless its been replaced already by the last owner.

Royal Purple is fine for the oils/fluids, but you may need an additive if the rear end has the OEM LSD (Gov-Lock). You'll have RPO code "G80" if so. An external trans fluid cooler is great, but you may want to run it in series (in-radiator cooler first) with the OEM one in the radiator, especially if you live in a cold climate. Also, I agree with Scott.

^^^The upper trans line is a ***** where it enters the trans, you might have to pull the crossmembet and drop the rear of the trans a couple inches. Let us know how it goes. Those fluids should be good.
