i'll run this idea through my mechanic and get his take. the whole problem in my mind with blower feature is the constant upkeep and possible additional maintenance.
I've been running a Whipple for almost a year and I have to say there is zero maintenance. The only maintenance it calls for is to change it's oil at 100,000 miles. Other than that, just perform normal engine maintenance. I started with the blower on my 6.0 LQ4, then did AR longtube headers, a Vinci High Performance "trucker" cam with full roller rockers and a built 4l60 trans because I couldn't mate up a 6l80 with my AWD transfer case. I had BlackBear Performance do my tunes via an Autocal where they email me the tunes and I install them myself through the OBDII port. My truck isn't called "The Beast" for nothing. It absolutely launches. Bye Bye Titans. They have no chance nor do most others. I need to update my YouTube videos after my trans because it launches and shifts way better now but here's one right after the cam but before the headers and trans/ stall.

Mine too. I have 157k currently. But my suggestion is to get a used 6.2 l with a 6l 80 trans and have your mechanic rebuild the motor with high-performance parts including a cam and blower. The trans would just need a rebuild kit;; the 6l80 will handle the hp easily. Then just swap the engine and trans in. You'd still have less into it and end up with way more hp. But these motors will go 300k miles easily.

just what extra maint does a blower make happen? a new coupler every few years, they cost like 30 bucks. ic coolant change every 5 years? aka theres no extra maint with a sc, just more instant power.

if you get a sc, add meth injection, you can run more boost and more timing, all equals more hp for not a whole lot of extra money.
