I have a 2013 Tahoe (ppv) which has 22x9 inch rims. I recently bought a new rim and was wondering if I could mount it where the spare tire is. (The current one is the stock 17 factory one). I wanted to see if anyone has tried this yet and it has worked.

i was able to get a 33x12.5 on a 16.5 wheel under the back of my 03 pick up.

best to take one of your wheels off and have a test fit.

Yeah that's the plan. I was looking though the forum and saw someone who had a 09 Tahoe have to buy a new wheel hoist for the 22 becasue the factory one only works with 17-21 inch rims.

odd, cause the bore hub is still the same size so the hole cant be any larger really on the 22" wheel.

if the hole in the 22 wheel is smaller for the lift to fit in. then i could see needing the new lift set up. that you could see pretty fast with the spare tire dropped next to the new wheel.

A 22" wheel and tire will fit but for reasons not clear to me such requires a different hoist. Maybe those short Dorman hoists will work for both?

Well I saw it in on an earlier forum post someone was putting 22s on there 09 and if he wanted to have the spare be the same he needed the 22in wheel hoist. I looked into and found gm part 84300486 and in the notes its for a 22 inch wheel only. When I get my new rim Friday ill buy and old tire and see if it fits.

Yeah my year Tahoe (2013) I believe was the last year that the PPV was not certificated for towing.
