To update the thread i ended up having the running board trim wrapped in matte black to make it blend in with the plastic. I am still going to be purchasing all the rst window trims as wrapping the oem chrome around the rubber gaskets will be a pain.

Please post some installation notes once you have the window trim installed. I'd love to swap mine out (I currently have it wrapped) but some of the pieces seem like they would be a massive pain to swap out.

Question on the running boards for you. I think I know the answer, but it just seems weird. Found an RST at a local dealer and trying to identify all the small parts / differences, and the RST has a small piece of gloss black trim that, if I recall correctly, was sort of inlayed into the outer corner of the otherwise flat black / gray plastic running board. However, when I got home and looked at the running boards on my LT, they were the same flat black / gray color, but the outer corner was solid. No indentation or place to inset a piece of trim. Are there really two different running board that are identical other than the fact that one is molded to accept trim and the other is not?

Im not sure on the tahoe if they changed up the running boards, but I know on the denali and escalade they come factory with the inlay for the chrome strip as the rst does for the gloss black one.

Did you purchase the RST trim yet? And do you drive a Tahoe or Yukon?

There are actually 6 strips to changeout on each side. 3 on the front window, 3 on the rear window:
Surrounding the rear view mirror mount
Upper front window
Lower front window
Upper rear window
Lower rear window
Rear window vertical strip

I attempted this about 4 months back. While I was getting my oil changed, I found a blacked out RST on the dealer lot and got the VIN off the windshield, then went to the parts guy at the dealership. After he found the moldings, and priced out all of the trim (let me tell you, this guy was absolutely ecstatic about pricing out these parts), the total came out to well over $500 in parts alone; some of the strips were $120 a piece. And then, to install, you have to take the doors apart because the strips connect on the inside...which would be probably a full day of labor, if not a day and a half...but here is what I found out for part numbers:

22772904
22772905: (R) Molding RR S/D WDO GARN
84160204
84160205
84126995: (R) Molding RR S/D WDO UPR RVL (BLACK); 84126996: (L) Molding RR S/D WDO UPR RVL (BLACK)
84126994
84126983: (L) Molding RR S/D WDO BELT RVL (BLACK); 84126982: (R) Molding RR S/D WDO BELT RVL (BLACK)
84126984
84126965: (L) Molding FRT S/D WDO BELT RVL (BLACK)
84126966: (R) Molding FRT S/D WDO BELT RVL (BLACK)
84126971: (L) Molding FRT S/D WDO UPR RVL (BLACK)
84126972: (R) Molding FRT S/D WDO UPR RVL

Not in your list above:
84126966: (R) Molding FRT S/D WDO BELT RVL (BLACK)
84126965: (L) Molding FRT S/D WDO BELT RVL (BLACK)

Maybe somebody else can chime in with the other descriptions. Not sure what the other parts are. Hope this helps!

So if I'm understanding correctly this list above should be the correct and complete part number list for RST Black window trim for Yukon XL, Suburban, ESV models?

I am still going to be purchasing all the rst window trims as wrapping the oem chrome around the rubber gaskets will be a pain.

The rubber "gaskets" or top layer of the window trim is exactly what makes me question the longevity of vinyl wrapping the trim. I'm willing to pay more for the RST black trim given the fact that it'd be more of a long term one and done situation. I could see the vinyl wrap option potentially needing to be redone and/or touched up with new sections every once in a while? Here in the Midwest we get snow/ice etc., I use an ice scraper. Though I'm careful I don't want to have to worry about knicking my vinyl in the winter weather months. I just don't have much experience with vinyl wraps to know how durable they really are or aren't.

I think you have to re-wrap it every few years or so, depending on weather factors. WillieFlo has a post about having had to redo his after two years. I’ll try to find it.

I wrapped mine along with the chrome fog light housing. I'm at 18 months and it looks the same as the first month.IMG_1988.jpg

Any update on this and your purchase and install of the RST black window trim for your Escalade ESV? Interested in going this route for my Yukon XL Denali.

Also... Is this^^^ the accurate parts list for RST window trim to do a LWB Escalade ESV or Yukon XL Denali? Would like to know before heading to the parts counter as some of those guys are pretty hit or miss.
