I picked up a 2004 Tahoe early winter and I love it and while I don't hate the rims, I also don't like them cause they aren't in the greatest shape thanks to the wonderful Minnesota winters and the junk they put on the roads. Now comes my question, as much as I would love to go get some new (or used) 20's or something for this, its just not in the budget right now and wondering if anyone has painted their factory rims? Now that spring is rolling around, I was thinking of pulling them off and prepping them and shooting them with some flat black or semi gloss black paint. Or maybe plastidip or something. Just wondering if anyone has any pictures of some stockers painted up on their rides so I can get an idea of what to expect if I do. I hate to paint them and it end up not liking them. Here is what I'm working with.

Cant find the pic for reference. But paint inbetween the spokes black and leave the face silver.

I dipped Denali rims. Clear coat was typical Gm--messed up. These are my winter wheels.20171112_140319.jpg 20180228_175242.jpg
I also dipped my summer 22's.

I’m flirting with the same idea but on a different car. Most dips or plasticote I’ve seen look dull but now the have a gloss black. I would try the plasticote spray first so you can peel it off if you don’t like it.

Rustolem Hammertone Metallic on 20x8.5 Denali wheels. 1 1/2" spacers on the front, 2 1/2" on the rear. Had to drill out the wheels to allow the wheels studs clearance, stuck out past the front spacers about 1/8". Have 275/65/20's (34.1") with a 3" torsion lift, 2" spring spacers and Z71 springs. Tires are flush with the front fenders, stick out about 1" past in the rear.
