Hey guys. I’m Scott from Connecticut. I’m new to joining forums in general but I’ve used them many times for answers. Just purchased a 2011 GMC Yukon Denali about 2 weeks ago. 6.2L with about 74k on it. Expecting my second kid in about 3 weeks so we had to upsize a vehicle. Fantastic so far. Figured I’d join TYF because I’m always looking for good advice with preventative things and repairs. I’m a diesel tech with about 7 years experience so maybe we can trade ideas sometime in the future. Thanks all for allowing me in the community.36A4BE79-2691-40C6-85DC-C557AAC96CC8.jpeg 33BFEDEB-23D5-4563-842D-C85EC87ADEA5.jpeg

Howdy Scott and welcome! Truck looks great and another child is a blessing that will again change your lives for the better. As a mechanic, if you don't already have one, get yourself an advanced scan tool as they are the most important tool you can have for working on these things. The Tech2 was the scan tool used by GM for these until replaced by the MDI and GDS2 software and laptop.

Is this Denali 2WD or AWD and were you able to get its service records?

Scott, :welcome: to you/yours to the forum from Georgia Dawg country, glad to have you. You should be proud of your new ride, looks really nice and well taken care of. I see the remains of NorEaster , but not sure which one since you've had 4.

Appreciate it swath. It’s AWD and unfortunately I purchased it from a wholesaler for a below market value price so they didn’t offer many resources. Car fax came back pretty decent as it had a minor collision on the front fender but all in all it runs and drives great. I checked it over myself and noticed the trans cooler lines starting to seep at the crimps so I found a set of ac Delco lines on rock auto for about 60 bucks. I just gotta check whether it has the hd cooling setup or the standard before I order. Trans fluid is clean and at the right level so it’s not a huge leak at the moment.

Welcome, I've got your cousin 2012 Denali xl
Awesome and thanks a lot. I would’ve loved to get the xl or a suburban but when I found this one for the price I couldn’t pass it up. Plus my wife thought the xl was too big. To each their own I guess ‍♂️
