Part # help - heater hose quick connect/Not the T-fitting...

Vehicle - 2004 GMC Yukon 4.8 with rear AC

I have been looking on here and cannot seem to find a part number for the quick connect piece that attached to the heater hose (ill post a pic)

I have the T fittings - Dorman 800-414 and 800-413

While Im doing this replacement I want to replace the piece that attached to the T fitting and slides into the heater hose

I have read a lot that the part is Dorman 800-403 This part does not fit the T connection....not even close. The Gates quick-lok part # 28500 appears to but not sure if it will work.

I would appreciate any help and direction here....

Does anyone know if you buy the heater hoses if they come with the connection already attached? Either way I would like to pry out the old piece in the hoses I have and install new.

the oem hose come as a one piece kit, with the aftermarket replacement adapter you have to splice the hose and use a clamp

Honestly, I just cut the factory connectors off and just hose clamp em onto the heater core inlet/outlet. Did it on my Silverado back in like 2005 and they're still right where I left em.

Yeah I’m about to do that too (I hate these stupid plastic connections they’re a joke) but did find the part number. The Gates 28500 connector works fine. The Dorman 800-403 does not fit. (I have rear AC/heat) so I have to incorporate a T connection at the heater core to run the line to the rear heater.... thanks for the help guys.

Yea man, they're terrible. Every GM truck I have or have worked on that popped one gets a nice new shiny pair of stainless clamps. Good luck.

Yep. Gates 28500 is the right fitting coming off the T connector to the hoses... Finished this job this morning - everything fit good. Next time I’m eliminating the QD crap.

Quick sanity check: Are the fittings you used barbed?

Last time I dealt with those, they were smooth. Not great for holding pressure

I just run the hose up over the lip and work my big mits back there to tighten the clamps. Been doing it for years and only had one fail (pipe rotted off the firewall)

The Gates fittings look like this. Everything buttoned up real nice. The right side(white plastic) had a different molded fitting in the hose, the black side uses a hose clamp.
