I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe 5.3l v8 4 wheel drive. Sometimes when I start my truck it dies it starts up and the RPMS drop back down to zero and I have to start it and hold the gas pedal and 1000 RPM so the truck won’t turn off and then after a while it’s fine. I’ve changed the plugs changed the fuel filter and the fuel pumped has been changed about 3 three years ago. I need to figure out how come it is doing this. Please if y’all have any suggestions let me know. Thanks and also the check engine light is not on.

idle air control on the throttle body, you can sometimes clean them up but better to just replace it, they run about $60 from a local auto parts, you can find them online cheaper. only takes a couple minutes to R&R

I usually have an issue with my throttle body too. I clean it every summer cause in addition to it turning off it putts and the rpms bounce when I’m stopped and the AC is on. I know it’s up for a cleaning when I use the remote start and it dies. Defly clean it yourself cause I got charged $90 from a mechanic once. The cleaner is $10 and it takes probably 15 minutes max

Could be a vacuum leak, intake manifold gaskets. I bet there's a code stored in there somewhere. Let's ask the mods to move this to the right forum as well.
