Hi guys. I have a 2004 Escalade. The driver door speaker doesn’t work. Therefore I also have no chimes. Although you can hear them very very quietly from the tweeter.

First I replaced the driver speaker with a new GM Bose speaker. No change.

Then I replaced the amp. No change.

Then I tried a different head unit. No change.

Everything else in truck works perfect.

I have no idea what to do next. Any ideas?

woah, I would have checked wires way before any of that, get 9v battery, meter and test speaker...... first verify oem speaker is good or no good, then trace back wire after door hinge and then before door hinge and then from amp output, then from amp input, then up to deck output. if you have already replaced all that stuff above then it is a broken/shorted wire or harness pin 100% for sure. or one of the above has the exact same defect (not likely).

Thanks for your reply!
Opened it up and found the gray and tan wires which are the colors of the speaker wire were cut and not attached to anything. I connected them back together with butt connections and it still doesn’t work.

ya but did you test the wiring before and after the break?, there is no logical reason the wires would be cut unless you bought it used and it was that way already by some previous owner.
was it cut straight? or was it stretched out looking like the wires had been yanked on? if the wire was stretched/yanked there could be other breaks inside the insulation that cant be seen.

Bought it used at Cadillac dealer and they removed some radar detectors and other equipment. They are taking care of it this Saturday. Here is what I found tied on and cut. 80E20258-3F46-48EA-9813-159343F32858.jpeg
