Thanks Tony. Have you had to do this with your Yukon? I'm wondering about what it's going to cost. Since it needs flashed I suppose I have no choice but to bring it to a GM dealer...

Not on my Hoe, but on my express work van. Garage charged me $200 to do a stock reflash. They didn't do it in house, outside vendor came to do it, so who knows what their markup was. As far as I'm aware, all GM pcm need the reflash due to the vin. Maybe check cl or online for this service. You might find it much cheaper.

if you find a pcm for your exact year and engine tranny and rear combo it should work with a security learn. but the vin wont match and if you have inspection you will fail for that when they scan it.

ive seen ebay sellers who will set your vin# in the pcm they are selling.

pretty sure ive heard a tech 2 can change a vin# too. local shops might have one.

i did a trans file swap on a w body pcm a while back for a shop that found me on another forum, i charged the guy 100 shipped back, you know he marked it up...

I bought a pcm from the same generation as my truck from ebay. Had black bear flash my tune on the new pcm. Vin and everything transfers over.

Flash is usually 1 hr labor (around $100) at a stealership. A flash from a Tech 2 requires a subscription with GM to perform. Might try a non stealership and see what they charge.
