RENAMED!! The adventures of Chase and his 2006 Yukon XL Denali!! Follow along on my travels!

Had to pick up a couple things while I was in Vegas! The tumbler should fit nicely in my denalis cup holder!

So my replacement fog lights got delivered Friday. Swapped them in yesterday when I got home from work before dark. So far so good. Lenses are still on. Lol.


I like the night time effect with the LED halos in the fogs tied to my upper halos. Cool look!

I’m also diving into my steering wheel project. Pulled my custom made wheel with painted grips out to redo the whole thing. All the little imperfections in the leather dye and grips was getting to annoy me. So I fixed the small spot off worn off leather on my original wheel and put it back in for a few days while I redo the custom one. Sanded the snot out of the whole thing, right now fresh paint and clear coat is drying on the grips. In a couple days after the grips are totally dry, I’ll swap and mask those off so I can start respraying the leather. Pics of the wheel when I took it out:


All kinds of little spots annoying me! Try not to hate too much on the start of my less than professional masking job! Haha

Meanwhile the buttons I got fixed with LED backlighting are in my stock wheel until the custom one is done, I’ll swap them back over when it’s finished. But for now I love having backlit steering wheel buttons, with blue LEDs! Lol sorry for the crappy phone pics, but I don’t have sick cameras and mad photo taking skills like @Sevenevez ! Haha

Looks good. Yea it's hard to capture any leds on a phone camera.
I wanna do mine, they all light up, I just want blue leds lol

No I sent them off to have them done since they weren’t in my truck. I wanna do the rest of the switches and panels but I would have to do it myself. I’m curious as to how har dot is to swap the led bulbs in where to get the bulbs.

First look at the grips repainted. I really took my time this time around, and so far the grips came out extremely smooth. I'm pretty happy with how the grips came out this time. Now time to start unmasking and then masking off the grips so I can start redoing the leather. Hopefully gonna do that in the morning.

So while my third and final round of leather dries tonight on my steering wheel, I took advantage of the fact that I’m crashing at my best friends parents house again while they are on a last minute trip, and the garage that I can pull my Denali all the way into! Little waterless detail to eliminate all the dusty crap from the winds of the last 24 hours. So over big bear’s damn dust! Lol. Anyways, took a few minutes to clean and wax these big ass chrome suckers. Lol. They are a pain in the you-know-what to keep clean, but damn they shine up nice!


Will give my steering wheel a light coat of clear in the morning to protect the leather, and then it’ll cure for the next week while I’m on my snowboarding trip to mammoth. When I get back it’ll be time to install! The steering wheel came out so much cleaner this time around! Can’t wait to share pics with you guys!

So I had to order another set of key fobs. Ooi. Anyways, painted fob one silver with the little bit of silver paint I have left from my last order from automotivetouchup. I line it. Gotta paint the second one later in the week when I get home from my snowboarding trip to mammoth.
