Not sure on nbs but i was looking thru my roof and sunroof/moonroof on mt nnbs i thought i could see the nuts for the sharkfin. Not sure if u have sunroof but take a look, may save some time/work
Smart thinkin right there. Fosscore don't have a sunroof, so hopefully that would make an easier access.

If not through sunroof.

A pillar off.
B pillar off.
Visor down.
Center console down.
Passenger grab handle off.

I didn’t have XM on passenger side, but OnStsr shark fin on driver side has 1 bolt that can only be taken off under the headliner.

See pic.

The cable clips in and runs to the console by the top of the windshield. I bet the XM does the same.

The grab handle - if yours is in the overhead - pop out those 2 plugs so they pull almost all the way out.

There are 2 thin black rectangular washers if you will that slide out from the handle and allow you to pull the handle out of the roof.

Careful, they are skinny and easily bent. This will give you more access and room to pull the front of the headliner down and pull those antennas out. Plugs or since you are doing paint, perhaps find a way to fill the holes and fair it out.

Otherwise I used plugs for the shark fin and done.

Hope that helps a bit. I did it while my headliner was being recovered so it was pretty easy.

I contemplated taking my shark fin off. But I kinda like it. Haha. Anyways I wanna paint mine to match and pulling it off the truck to do so seems like it might be a hassle. Lol. Then again I have two big spots of bad clear coat up there on the corners near the windshield. So I may just sand those down and spray a little of my matched rattle can just to keep it from getting worse, while I paint the fin. But unfortunately I don’t have a garage. So painting the top really isn’t an option. Lol. @Sevenevez , if you tackle taking it off let us know how it goes and do a write up so I can decide if I wanna do it or not haha.

i appreciate the responses, but to me, thats just a hair too much hassle. i would rather take a sawz-all to them summab!tchez before i pull a headliner. i opened my sunroof and saw the nut. but it needs so much to pull it off that im not going to do it

Mine are stayin on lol, if you were replacing the headliner than yeah, but painting plus doing that, too much at once. Maybe just paint them to match and call it good [emoji106]

Tackle it.

You laid up on your roof to wet sand, did body work to your front bumper, farted around with that windshield washer fluid bottle and prettied up your new leather shifter....shall I continue??

Do et!! You know you want it smooth up there especially because you are not even using those pieces any more.

If they were functional and integral to daily ops, then yes. 1 nut and 1 plug and it’s out. I’d say about 1 hour to remove and to replace, well hold on given recent developments ....plus beer contemplation and consumption so maybe 2 hours for successful removal.

I had to replace my passenger grab handle and had to do 1/2 that work as well.

Just some gentle powers of persuasion.....
