So, trying to get the Yukon XL Denali ready for road trip to Chicago. 14 hours each way. Putting in new DVD screen, X-box, net flicks and so on. Then Low Oil Pressure came across the screen. So, checked the oil, it was fine. Put in a new oil pressure sensor...same problem. Looked on line, and people said to check the filter. Well, I can't find it below the sensor. And when i finally gave up and put the new sensor back on, now it's working. So I either pushed the filter down, which seems kind of hard to do, or it never had one. When I put the VIN number into All data, it does not show this filter.

So....is it there or was it never there?

Yes. Behind the plug is the oil pressure barbell.

Barbell? The filter he's referring to is just a screen. A lot of guys just remove it. Don't remember specifics on which vehicles/MY have it or don't. @Searay45db, try searching threads on replacing the sending unit, I know this has been discussed.

I am so confused. I don't ever recall seeing a screen anywhere in the oil system other than the pickup tube.

The barbell I am referring to is this:

Oh I gotcha now... The screen under the pressure sensor lol. Don't remove that.

There is no oil pressure filter but the sensor does go bad. Mine was reading oil pressure of 80 Ibs. That's wrong. Had it changed. Now 40lbs. That right.

Yes they have a "filter". It's a metal screen under the sensor. Every 5.30/6.0 I've touched has had it.
