That's pretty cool. I was looking into a similar one I think when I bought my clarion unit for my 2006 last spring. I was skeptical about buying a $200 Chinese unit. Good to know yours works. It looks good too. Maybe I'll look Into one next time I need a stereo. Lol. My clarion takes about 30 seconds to boot up as well. But if it's still booting up and I reverse, which is pretty rare since I usually let my truck run for a minute or so, it over rides the boot up and gives me my back up cam. I think that's what most units do.

Yes it would power multiple monitors. It would just be one thing playing tho. You couldn't have like radio on the head unit and dvd playing for kids in back. That sort of thing. But my kid uses his phone anyway. So he can stay on text etc.

I had the new back up cam put in this last friday. I love this head unit. And I haven't even started playing with it yet.

It's the same one Crutchfield sells. But for a lower price. There are hundreds of cameras out there. But I figure Crutchfield must vet these units to make sure they won't end up with a ton of returns. And it's CCD not CMOS. Which is a better set of electronics. It has the lines in it. And it comes with the extra wiring harness for wiring it from the head unit back to the back bumper. And it mounts up under the lift gate latch. Which is a prime location imho. The license plate mount like I got is stupid looking imho.
Thanks for this review. Contemplating replacing the non-screen stock head unit I have in my 2013 Suburban. Did it come with wiring instructions, by any chance? I'd love to do myself, but don't want to mess up the steering wheel controls or xm satellite function.

Thanks for the review. I still stand by the pioneer/kenwoods but was definitely looking at Android units at one time. I rarely use the "dual zone" setup but having that option is useful. My Pioneer takes maybe 10 seconds to boot up and the camera comes on pretty quick before it boots up.

I am definitely interested in hearing your thoughts now that you've had the unit a while. I would really like to put one of these android units into my escalade. I have RSE though, and I am wondering just how it would integrate.

I was just looking at these.
It's funny, I'm looking for the most basic feature, FM radio, not all of them have it.

Also, how was the connections? Do they have plug and play adapters available for all cars, are you cutting and splicing, etc?

Thanks

Nice Write up. I have been leery of Android head units. Not too happy with my s8 Edge android, but I would give this head unit a try

I had the 4200Nex with android auto in my 09 Denali. Worked amazing but this looks like a great deal.

thought i replied to one of these before, my experience with them has been pretty good. word of caution: definitely get one with the 8core processor and minimum 2gm of ram, usually loaded with android 6.0. they run a whole lot smoother than the previous ones. they also never really shut off, they go into sleep mode with very little amp draw so theres no boot time. I use one in mine and can swap between spotify, torque, waze great.
I have one from Eonon https://www.eonon.com/Car-Type/ChevroletGMC.html there's very few differences in any of them most companies use the same chip, PX5 8core and samsung 2gb ram

i dont know how the newer android 7.1 with quad core works, may be ok. and the wiring harness for that one comes prewired for 07-11 iirc. In my 2012 denali, bluetooth, nav, onstar, bose, rear entertainment I had to rewire the entire harness to PAC adapters. was kinda a pain in the ass but pretty happy with outcome
