Tahoe died

Well, the alternator has a bearing and that could've gone south. Same with the power steering and air conditioning compressor. I've had them seize over the years and prevent the motors from turning over with the belts on tight. Notice I said belts, it's been a long time for me!
Simply pop the belt off and see if anything changes.

It would be possible the timing chain jumped when you turned the motor off and when you went to crank, you have a piston and a valve touching. I would try and turn the motor the opposite way and see if if will move one way and then lock up when you turn it the other.

I did hear a sound that sounded like a hawk screeching when I lost power and the first thing I checked when I got off the highway was the belts. Didn't have power steering either

That screeching sound was your serpentine belt being dragged across a pulley that wasnt able to turn because of a locked up bearing/bushing. Id goto your Tahoe and take the belt off and see which pulley doesnt move freely and there is your culprit. Tow Tuck companies typically arent mechanics and "your guys" are inept and have proven that.
You might get outta there after changing out a alternator or power steering pump! If its the a/c compressor then just find a shorter belt that bypasses it and deal with it when you get home.

The ac belt is separate from the main belt

I highly recommend that you get a second opinion. If the engine was locked up then you would have had a low oil pressure warning and your dashboard would have lit up like a Christmas tree and a warning bell would have been sounding off like crazy telling you to shut off the engine. Plus your lifters would have been clicking really loud

Ok so here's the update. I'm not a mechanic but a little mechanically inclined. Got her home today and took both belts loose. All pulley's spin freely and easily except the crank pulley. I don't have a breaker bar so can't check that yet
