I didn't get any key fobs when I got my Tahoe. I did get 7 keys though. lol. I Thought AP8 was key fob. I found AP8 is remote start. Correct? I'm wanting to get a key fob.
What does the key fob I need look like? GM style replacement.

Mine came with 2 fobs. They look like every other GM fob. Lock/Unlock and panic.

Now I'm really confused.
Not sure what every other GM fob looks like.
I looked at some online. It doesn't need a hatch glass release, just doors?
It does have AP8
Can I tell what fob by the rpo sticker?

I ordered and received the key fobs. Programmed them today. Pulled the center vent panel loose and hooked up DIC switch first.
I found out the AP8 isn't a remote start, it is a hook up for a remote start. Also I'm not so sure the rear hatch releases with the key fob.
I should have got the 3 button fob. Anyway the doors lock and unlock w the fob.

Hi, Sorry for reviving an old post, but I am looking to get a second key FOB for my 2012 PPV which I recently purchased. Is programming the new FOB a simple process without having to go to the dealer, or other tech, for programming? I heard there is a simple way of doing it, but I wanted to be sure.

I believe your 2012 is new enough that it requires a locksmith, dealer or a friend with a Tech2 to program it.
