Has anyone tried putting a spacer on the stock 22" wheels from GM to give there truck a more aggressive stance, and room for a 305 45R/22?

What size spacer are you talking about? And if you haven't bought any yet make sure to get hub-centric spacers. As for installation, very simple to do, just take the wheels off and place them over the studs and make sure to torque them properly. Fitment on a 305/45r22 is going to depend on spacer size and lift/level height, so can't really answer that until I know those answers.

I have not purchased the spacer yet. And I have plans to also do a leveling kit.
I'll take your lead on it, what would you use on a 17' Denali XL?

To keep form cutting studs, I'd run 2 inch spacers. You'll have to trim for this, but I think you should only have to trim plastic, possible small nor-cal. Not entirely sure on these new trucks though, because as far as I know they have a little more leeway for fitment, but I've never seen 2" spacers on a level with 305/45 on these new styles. It's been done on NNBS though.

You only need 1.5" spacers to clear no stud trim on stock wheels since they have relieve pockets. 1.75" clears studs for no trimming. IMO BORA or G2 spacers are the best with hub centric. A level kit will clear with those tires, maybe some minor valance trim but I doubt it. I think your plan will turn out great!
