Well the Transmission cooler works frigging amazing. Temps went from 240* to never going above 195 on steep grades. My brakes/wheel hubs on the other hand did not like one of the hills we went down and my right front wheel is making a grinding noise when i turn to the left now. So I have to get the nose in the air again and see whats going on. A 1 ton truck pickup is in my future I'm not going to keep fixing this thing just to tow a few times a year. Kinda sucks though I fixed the suspension with air bags. I fixed the transmission with a cooler and now the brakes/wheel hubs are going.
What year is your Tahoe? Does it have the trailering package? Also do you have brakes on your trailer you're pulling? When going down grades you shouldn't ride your brakes, even a 1 ton will have brake failure if you do that. Let the truck and trailer go a little, then hard brake it back down then let it go again. That will keep your brakes from having heat failure.

My 2017 I just let the grade braking activate and never had an issue going through the mountains. I have the max trailering package and temps never exceeded 200 when going up the mountains in 100 degree weather.

Can't blame the Tahoe for that. Hub assemblies and brakes are easy DIY at least.

No definitely not blaming the truck, for what it is its doing great. But a brake upgrade is in the immediate future.
